What are your favourite facts about families of famous people?

I really enjoy history and trivia, especially the names and family dynamics of famous people. Some interesting facts I have come across are:

1. E. M. Delafield, who wrote Diary of a Provincial Lady, had a daughter who was famous in her own right as a runner.
2. US President John Tyler had 15 children, 2 with the same name.
3. Babe Ruth had two sets of twins as siblings, but most did not survive.

What facts related to families do you find interesting?

John Tyler (born 1790) from point 2 has a grandson who is still alive today.

Julio Iglesias (78) has a 16 year old half sister.

Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard were first cousins.
Sarah Beeney's husband has a sister, and the sister is married to Sarah's brother. Their respective children are double cousins.

Harry Hill is a medical doctor. (a neurosurgeon I believe!)
Not about family... But one of my fav famous facts.

Jack Black’s (actor, School of Rock) mother.

The day Black was born, she left work to go to the hospital but brought along a printout of a problem she was working on. She called in the solution – and Black’s birth announcement – from the hospital later that day.

The problem she solved was not insignificant — it was the key to making the Abort-Guidance System work, which was crucial to the safe return of the Apollo 13 flight crew months later.

Mike Nesmith of The Monkees, his mum invented tippex (white-out).

Bob Mortimer is a solicitor and represented Jarvis Cocker after his famous bum wiggle in front of Michael Jackson at the Brits (I forget which year, around 94?).

Betty White is (was) older than sliced bread.

Hedy Lamar ('Old Hollywood' actress) was a genius - Google her.

I've seen Prof Brian Cox from the telly, back when he was performing in the band D:REAM shoot me with your love!

Thanks everyone, all very interesting facts! The one about John Tyler's grandson is something I actually learned about on here a few weeks ago, on the thread about the oldest people we know. I read a little more about him at the time and unfortunately he has dementia, if I remember correctly.

I've always thought the concept of "double cousins" to be really interesting. I suppose it was more common a long time ago, when families married into others whom they grew up with. And you could talk about both sides of your family and visit both the same grandparents.

The mother of Mandy Smith, who married Bill Wyman of the Rolling Stones very young, ended up marrying Bill Wyman’s son. Both marriages ended in divorce fairly quickly.

Hedy Lamarr's life definitely seems very interesting!
I read a little more about Julio Iglesias's half-sister. Sadly, their father died before she was born.

This isn't about the family of a famous person but I always find it amazing that Tyson Fury, twice Heavyweight Champion of the World who is 6' 9" was born 3 months early and was 1 pound at birth.

Genetics are so powerful (and modern medicine).

He was a junior doctor for a short period before packing it in. It always irritates me that so much time and money was wasted training him for him only to walk away a very few years later.

Kelsey Grammers dad and sister were (separately) murdered and his two brothers died in a freak accident.

David Mitchell (the comedian) is Alexander Armstrong's sister in law's brother in law.
I hope I've got that right. To put it another way, Alexander Armstrong is Mitchell's wife's brother's wife's sister's husband.
