This is for pre-school

I have an invoice spreadsheet and on it are drop down arrows that take you to a list where you select the correct payment rate, or in another they correct age etc.

How do I amend what is in the drop down list - I can't find another sheet where it is or anything like that???? Don't even know what it is called to look it up in excel help.

I think I may have some more questions later too changing an "If" formula.

Thank you

They are probably a look up table. When you click on the cell with the drop down list, it might show you where you should be looking in the Formula bar. Alternatively see if there are any hidden sheets which contain the list.

No idea what version of excel but it goes back to 2005, nothing shows up in cell if I right click. How do I look for hidden sheets?

Sorry I used to be good with excel but I haven't worked for 5 years!!!

Cargirl if you right click on the sheet tab and 'view code' you might be able to amend what is in the list from there if it is hard coded in, you will also be able to see all the hidden sheets within the workbook and the code behind them. hth

CarGirl · 13/10/2008 10:25

There aren't any sheets to unhide.

When viewing the code it doesn't tell me anything helpful apart from it is password protected

Guess I will have to rewrite the whole thing at some point or find an excell whizz to help in person!

when trying to view the code, have you tried entering any passwords? if you try password, that is soemtimes the default.

CarGirl · 13/10/2008 10:57

will do Flier

Anyone fancy designer better invoices anyway. You can so tell it was a bloke who did them!
