This is for pre-school

I have an invoice spreadsheet and on it are drop down arrows that take you to a list where you select the correct payment rate, or in another they correct age etc.

How do I amend what is in the drop down list - I can't find another sheet where it is or anything like that???? Don't even know what it is called to look it up in excel help.

I think I may have some more questions later too changing an "If" formula.

Thank you

Plan has been foiled, copied spreadsheets onto disc from pre-school's laptop and my laptop can't find them I only have excel 2003 so perhaps it can't recognise them?

Perhaps I will have to go back to the beginning and just write my own spreadsheet with drop down boxes

Thanks for all your help, I don't even have the pre-school laptop anymore to try the ideas given yesterday pm.

When on the cell go to Data / Validation it should then should have a pop up box showing which validation options are in force. Allow list should be selected, there will then either be a list of words, a range of cells, or a single word range name.

If a list of words then edit in the pop up box, is a cell range then go to the cells referenced edit the list, if you extrend the list then you will have to go back to the pop up box and edit the range.

If a single word range name then come back and we can go through that.

I have a password cracker that will do sheet-level passwords if you need it?

SharpMolarBear · 13/10/2008 13:06

Drop down list options are usually in Data menu under validation

when trying to view the code, have you tried entering any passwords? if you try password, that is soemtimes the default.

I will send it to you tonight. It doesn't even have the internet so I will have to copy it onto disc to send it from my PC. Thanks for offer!

There aren't any sheets to unhide.

When viewing the code it doesn't tell me anything helpful apart from it is password protected

Guess I will have to rewrite the whole thing at some point or find an excell whizz to help in person!

Cargirl if you right click on the sheet tab and 'view code' you might be able to amend what is in the list from there if it is hard coded in, you will also be able to see all the hidden sheets within the workbook and the code behind them. hth
