Can someone help with this problem with iPad?

Ds watches videos on his tablet. He has ASD so he has to follow a 'routine' on the videos. The trouble is the videos 'lag' and have been getting much worse and daily they 'lag' and won't work. This is creating mega meltdowns. I can't afford a new one and there is nothing else wrong with it anyway. Is there anything I can do with it to stop this? The other tablet doesn't do this very often so it can't be a problem with the Internet? The tablet is, of course out of the years warranty!

Have you closed down everything else?

Double click the middle bottom button and all the programmes running will appear. Swipe them all up to close them down.
Or close it down and turn it back on again.

Yes he shut everything else down, I make them do this very often!

Is the software up to date?

Yes all up to date!

Can you download the videos first? I'm not sure what he's watching but you can download from BBC iPlayer, for example, and play back without relying on wifi.

He has apps so let say for example the dan tdm apps, they are all game videos he watches (no idea why) as I don't allow you tube...

It could be a problem with the internet if a)the other tablet is newer and b)if the tablets are being used in different locations inside the home.

My iPad Air lags only in 1 room of the house but my iPhone 6 doesn't lag in the same spot because it's newer.

My sons iPad will play up sometimes if it hasn't been switched off for a while. E.g. Just kept charged and turned on all the time. I've started switching it off fully at night which is helping. ASD here too :)

Does he always use it in the same location?

Thanks all. Mostly in the same room yes but will take it with him around the house and it does it in other places. There are 2 iPad minis brought at the same time, the other one, which is linked and both have the same apps (his brothers) is fine? My iPhone is fine also?

I do also turn them both off at night when charging cake! It's a nightmare, you would think someone was dying with the way he reacts over it!

I sometimes find my iPad freezes. I reset it by pressing the power button on the end and the round button and holding them both until it "shuts down" it is better after restarting

Thanks audit I try that often aswell and it doesn't seem to make a difference.

How much space is available ? If it is filling up, you will notice that the apps will struggle. It would be worth having a clear down if storage is getting low.

There is 13.57 gb used and 45.42 available?

Are the two iPads sharing the same IP address? You can check this by going into settings, clicking on wifi and then on the right hand side where you see your router info you will see an 'i'. Click on the 'i' and it will show the IP address, do the same for the other iPad and see if they are the same.

I found this out last week when my DD and I were having internet/lagging issues at the same time for about a week and it was driving me nuts. The above was the problem. Let me know if it is this and I can let you know what we had to do.

No they don't have the same IP address, it's one digit different at the end.

Maybe try uninstalling and reinstalling the app?

Have tried uninstalling and then the installing the apps. He's in such a state over it! Any one else??

Have you got lower internet package?

Only we had basic internet, Ds plays PS4 games and we run 3 mobiles 1 laptop and 1 iPad
They are all switched on in the house every night when we're all in, Ds was complaining the game he plays keeps lagging and was constantly moaning he can't play it properly.
In the end we ended up uppering the package for fibre and its much better

I presume I haven't got fibre as I don't know if I have or not? We have 2 iPads, my iPhone and laptop connected and a lot of the time all on at the same time. The thing is though, both iPads have the same aps, ds2 iPad doesn't lag, it's only ds1s laptop....?

can you do a factory reset, that might work as a last resort.
