I have a Bolse cable. It was less than £15, is much longer than an apple lead and comes in pretty colours. Those apple leads are a joke. The ones for the laptops do the same and cost a fortune!

I bought one of those braided cords a couple of months ago and it now has a barely visible kink in it just below the neck and has stopped working.

mine has been fantastic, and something is always being charged :)

i would try it, DP is on his third phone case because it has chipped on the corners because he keeps dropping it he told them this and they replaced it.

Definitely going to at least make some noise at a poor Apple serf whose fault it isn't and has to stand there and be all American ultra polite about something that isn't their fault.

The iphone screens smash so fucking easily now as well. I put a protector on my after the second smash and it's still cracked.

Their quality is so not what it was 10 years ago, but I can't move to Samsung or whatever because I can play literally my entire music library over wifi through my phone

I tried the braided cords an they are shite. My latest plan is buying cords from John Lewis with a year guarantee.. I will return them if/when they break. It helps that I have a John Lewis account so all the receipts are online.

I'm not sure I agree that the screens are delicate. Our family has had lots of iPhones and we have never had a screen break.

Apple Store will replace if genuine product even without receipt. I've had 3 replacement lightning cables for my iPad that's almost 4 years old because of the way the cable cover bubbles, buckles then splits. They never quibble about changing it!!

They are breakable. I'm always dropping my Samsung, never so much as a scratch (touch wood).

Amazon own brand cables are good. Ive got a 2m long black one which I think cost £12 and well over a year old with no problems.

They are shit, and another reason why I dislike Apple (dds have iPads - their choice. DH and have Samsung phones and have never once had a charger problem).

Got a lightening charger cable in Wilko for £2! Bargain .

I've tried mending the fray with Sugru.
