Marking my place as I have much the same question! I,ve excluded the samsung, so now trying to choose between the nexus and the kindle.

StillIRise · 27/10/2012 13:18

Ditto.....

HauntedLittleLunatic · 27/10/2012 13:19

Another lurker...think I have narrowed down to the nexus or.iPad mini...

PersonalClown · 27/10/2012 13:19

And me!
I'm leaning to the iPad mini as I've heard it's better for apps for SN children. PECS, visual timetables etc.

HauntedLittleLunatic · 27/10/2012 13:20

Lol! No answers, but lots of lurkers...

youonlysingwhenyourewinning · 27/10/2012 13:20

Why have you excluded the Samsung toes?

That one was winning up to now, but purely because I have the galaxy S3 phone which I love

I decided on the ipad mini but now not sure if I should go for the full size ipad or not.

So not much help either!

youonlysingwhenyourewinning · 27/10/2012 15:41

The iPad 2 appears to have a couple out offers knocking about on it ...I could be tempted.

Gah, that's not helping me to narrow it down... Confused

iPad Mini is insanely overpriced and you are literally only paying for the brand name, the spec is so much worse than the Nexus and Kindle that it's laughable!

The Nexus 7 is undoubtedly the best 7 inch tablet on the market right now.

MikeLitorisBites · 28/10/2012 07:51

Nexus 7. Its been reduced to £169.

TempusFunghi · 28/10/2012 07:59

I have an iPad and an iPhone, my concern with the iPad mini is the typing. On the iPad I can touch type, on the phone I type with my finger, how does it work on the mini? Personally I find sending long emails irritating on the phone, I think it would be the same on the mini. I agree with whoever commented on the price, although I am wedded to my apple products they are just taking the p*ss with the pricing.

I don't know much about the nexus but was looking at the kindle fire reviews yesterday and there are as many bad as good. Personally I would hold off on buying one until the next generation. Not sure any of that helps! [hsmile]

magnolia74 · 28/10/2012 08:10

I have th ipad 2 and dh has the nexus. He by far recommends the nexus. For me it ones down to size. I can't bear typing on phones and the nexus I not much bigger really.

The mini is just a load of hype and not worth paying the silly price for when its just been released.

magnolia74 · 28/10/2012 08:10

It comes down to, not ones Hmm

Ihatemytoes · 28/10/2012 09:19

I've discounted the samsung because I have a galaxy phone, and I really don't like it. Looks like the nexus is winning at the mo.

Silibilimili · 28/10/2012 09:42

Lurking. Nexus or iPad. Mind says nexus. Heart says iPad.

olibeansmummy · 29/10/2012 09:22

Were getting the I pad mini for ds, but then were slaves to apple!

singinggirl · 29/10/2012 09:55

Love my Nexus, DH is the same. Can't recommend highly enough!

daisydoodoo · 30/10/2012 13:39

ive done something incredibly silly as not sure where i stand with returns.I have ordered the Kindle fire HD, google nexus 7 and the ipad mini to comapre side by side as can;t get anywhere where i could see all 3 together to compare.
The only reason the ipad mini has any advantgae so far is that i can use a giffgaff sim to use the 3G.

Im so confused and this was supposed to be an easy decision of the kindle fire to replace ds2's broken origional Kindle.

youonlysingwhenyourewinning · 31/10/2012 09:30

Ooh let us know which one you go for daisy!

iPad mini review

ZombieArmsDragOnTheFloor · 31/10/2012 09:38

Daisy, if you open the boxes, I don't think you can return them.

daisydoodoo · 31/10/2012 09:50

ah zombie- i did wonder about that. i cant afford all three and had put them on emergency cc to ee them in the flesh so to speak to then send two back. The kindle and nexus are much more my budget but the mini has 3 g capability, but £200 more expensive.
I wouldnt be in debt to buy any of them as have budgeted for christmas presents and i'm not extravagent throughout the year, big presents and even things like x-box games are birthday and christmas only unless pocket money saved, so I do tend to spend a fair bit on one or two decent items for those occassions.

will check the refund policys before i open the boxes then.

Trills · 31/10/2012 09:56

Anything but the Kindle Fire. It is very locked down and you can only buy apps from Amazon.

Personally I would get the Nexus.
