Anyone downloaded iOS 6 yet?

Is it any good, I'm hearing funny things about Siri... Do you miss Google maps?

not the Guardian, but another saying outside USA, Apple has messed up the maps...

I've only got a 3GS, most of the improvements seem to be aimed at the 4 and 5. Is it worth downloading?

I have upgraded to iOS6 and the few checks I have done on the map application have produced dreadful results.

However, I have reinstalled the Google maps app. See below for instructions:

Point your Safari browser to maps.google.com and click the export button in the middle of the menu bar to save the app to your homescreen. Once installed, you?ll now see ?Google Maps? on your homescreen complete with its own appropriately designed app icon.

And discovered it is quite Crap? Is Taft what you mean?

I just went on the ipad to put teletubbies on youtube-GONE!

Shit, I had not noticed that youtube was gone! That is so poor!

I am not going to until problems are fixed!

I have now got Google maps back and reloaded the YouTube app on the iPhone, so not too bad... until I discover the next problem!

Actually, I have just done Siri tests in two languages and that seemed to work ok...

Yes - YouTube gone - that lovely little telly icon. WHY?! Anyone know? I couldn't find the app either...
Downloaded it onto iPad this morning and dd1 noticed it had gone. Loathe to update phone now. Such a PITA.

The only reason I hadn't was the ridiculous amount of space it needs. I won't bother now - thanks.

I wouldn't have done it if I'd noticed that I was going to lose YouTube. Siri was great fun until it stopped working and dd on her 4th gen touch hasn't got Siri or anything new really.

On the iPhone, you can get the YouTube app from the App Store. It is not quite as good as the one I had by default on the 4S though.

YouTube is owned by Google, I think, so maybe it's the Apple method of distancing itself from a big competitor (Android phones, Chromebook laptop, and Google Maps is a major success worldwide, so Apple 'rolled its own' {to some disappointment, it appears}).

Did it yesterday. Was a palaver. Took ages to get onto phone then iTunes crashed constantly. That's sorted now I think but my laptop is working a lot slower since and programs are crashing - related???

The maps isn't great. Some of the maps are blurred, you can hardly see my sister's house as covered in lots of cloud, and other areas look very faint and grey. I like the idea of the sat nav voice but not used it yet and the maps so far haven't really impressed me. Have now added google maps to my home page.

Did anyone work out what passbook does and how?

I miss YouTube, had fun with Siri for a little while but probably won't use regularly

Thanks. It's a pain at the moment as the link from Passbook won't load up the iTunes Store - grr!

There is a fix for the Passbook problem. I have not attempted it though.
