Anyone downloaded iOS 6 yet?

Is it any good, I'm hearing funny things about Siri... Do you miss Google maps?

Mines working fine, except passbook, which hasn't got enough stuff yet to warrant doing the fix it thing. I like the Facebook integration. Lack of YouTube can be fixed by downloading the app.

Siri seems to work better?

go into settnigs and find the siri option. Under there there is an option of who 'you are'. tHis is a person from your own contact list.
First create a contact in your list for yourself and associate that with siri. YOu can give yourself a nickname here also.
Also in the contact you can set up relationships with other contacts ,mom, bro, sis etc.. and that way siri will recognise commands like call my mom. etc.

The map thing is the main thing for me that they need to sort. The images are dreadful, really really bad in places. There are large areas that are blurred, other sections are black and white and unclear, and a whole load of areas that are so badly covered in clouds you cannot see the roads below. Whilst I like the idea of the sat nav directions, until Apple get their maps sorted it is not an app I will be using and that is annoying. Apple are a big enough company to have had this sorted before a new upgrade. It's disappointing.

The rest so far seems ok - not really noticed many changes that directly affect me tbh. I rarely use Siri anyway, nor You Tube.

Agree with 12thmonkey, iOS6 is working really well for me, the maps situation will be fixed soon enough, and Siri finally understands my accent!

I have iOS6 and its fantastic. BEFORE you install you must go through all the changes that will be made between versions. I find it so funny how people complain about 'issues' without having done research.

The youtube app only existed natively because iOS did not have flash support, Google have fixed this so there really is no need for a native app, and one is available in the APP store and as a result is applicable to receive updates when necessary.

Google have started to charge for using maps commercially. The native maps app on iOS5 is commercial use and apple do not see it as sensible to pay. The new maps is based on TomTom framework and the pictures are probably open source or De-licienced. It is cloud based so considering the number of users will probably be fine in no time. I have used maps as sat nav and it has worked for me fine , so far.

The do not disturb feature is great for me as i recieve sms's for work all night and now i do not have to turn my phone off.

The new app store / i tunes navigation and layouts are great

The full siri integration is superb works just like last years ads said it would.

However now seen via that when clicking on App Store there are only 4 passbook related apps - and none I'd actually use!

Did it yesterday. Was a palaver. Took ages to get onto phone then iTunes crashed constantly. That's sorted now I think but my laptop is working a lot slower since and programs are crashing - related???

The maps isn't great. Some of the maps are blurred, you can hardly see my sister's house as covered in lots of cloud, and other areas look very faint and grey. I like the idea of the sat nav voice but not used it yet and the maps so far haven't really impressed me. Have now added google maps to my home page.

YouTube is owned by Google, I think, so maybe it's the Apple method of distancing itself from a big competitor (Android phones, Chromebook laptop, and Google Maps is a major success worldwide, so Apple 'rolled its own' {to some disappointment, it appears}).

On the iPhone, you can get the YouTube app from the App Store. It is not quite as good as the one I had by default on the 4S though.

I wouldn't have done it if I'd noticed that I was going to lose YouTube. Siri was great fun until it stopped working and dd on her 4th gen touch hasn't got Siri or anything new really.
