My Nokia is slowly dying on me and I can't use it for emails, mn, facebok etc so I have been looking at getting a new phone but I can't decide between an iPhone, Blackberry (preferable Torch) and an HTC Desire.

Does anyone know pros and cons about each of them? and of course which apps are essential Smile

I love my iPhone, I would never be without one now!

micku5 · 12/11/2010 21:26

What's the touch screen like? I upgraded to a Samsung Genio and it was crap so went back to my Nokia

Well I've not had a different touch screen phone before but I love it, I have the iPhone 3 and my DP has the 4 and the screen quality on the 4 is better but I still prefer the look of the 3. Keep bumping the thread, there are lots of iPhone fans on here!

Thanks.

Bump for any other iPhone, Blackberry and HTC fans out there

I am actually a blackberry fan (but otherwise only have Apple stuff in the house)... but I only use it for emails and calls (so a good work phone essentially... and better than an iphone IMO for that). I know lots of people who have blackberries together with iphones/ipod touches - the blackberries for work and the iphones/ipod for the fun stuff.

If you want to facebook and mn I think you are going to be happier with an iphone.

maisiestar · 13/11/2010 08:50

I have a blackberry from work, an iPhone as my home phone and my dh has the desire and I would definitely say iPhone - all three can do mostly the same things, it's just that the iPhone does them so effortlessly.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 13/11/2010 08:58

htc hd 7. which uses windows 7.
mine is beautiful and kissable and I love it very much. It is really easy to read. A bit short on apps atm, but thats cos its so new.

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/11/2010 15:29

iphone, love it and very simple to use

friend hates her bb

guess depends what camp you are in

i would suggest you try both out in a shop or fiddle with a friends

micku5 · 13/11/2010 15:58

Thanks... I'll have to 'borrow' a phone from friends and have a play with them as suggested.

catinthehat2,

That is hillarious! I personally have an Iphone 3g and can not wait ( am counting the days) until my contract runs out and I can finally..finally....turn into Einstein and have an HTC Desire HD!!!

On the plus side I am now an expert at repairing Iphone screens! :)

Wilts · 13/11/2010 20:23

Iphone4 - tis fab!

Ilythia · 13/11/2010 20:36

I have an HTC, is lovely and pretty and clever and android is actually more popular in US than apple, and google are constantly updating it....

PlonkerForLifeNotJustChristmas · 14/11/2010 00:03

I have the HTC Desire, which I love!

I've only had it a couple of weeks so can't really comment too much, but so far so good!

I wanted an iPhone was but put off on two counts. Firstly, the cost! ...and secondly, the amount of people telling me they had problems with theirs.

AitchTwoOh · 14/11/2010 00:10

i have had the htc desire (not hd) for about a month now, and i really, really like it. all the main iphone apps are available so far as i can see, and google is working on more stuff all the time, for free.
i was going to get an iphone but i just couldn't justify the expense. i got twice as many minutes and messages for half the price with the htc.

DooinMeCleanin · 14/11/2010 00:14

There is no decision to be made. HTC Desire is the only option worth considering. Never in my life have I loved a phone so much.

Ilythia · 14/11/2010 09:03

I don't even have a desire, I have a wildfire, but it's still better than the iphone.

And if you really want to piss off iphone users, Angry Birds is FREE on android. Adn they have to pay! mwahahahaha

AitchTwoOh · 14/11/2010 10:36

i've not paid for a single thing yet and i've got seven home pages full of 'em...

I have only paid for one app, out of my many, and that one was for an upgrade of a free app I loved anyway.

Quick question about HTC, looking on carphonewarehouse review and compare it states that they aren't wifi, does that mean i have to use the phone to connect to the internet each time?

OP posts:
catinthehat2 · 14/11/2010 19:38

I.'m on WiFi on HTC right now so no idea what they are on about

catinthehat2 · 14/11/2010 19:39

Desire

JarethThePomBearKing · 14/11/2010 19:44

Definitely HTC Desire. I'm amazed by the number of people I know with iPhone's who have problems with them (DP included)
