Warning on iPhone alarms and clock change!

My iPhone4 reset itself to the new time this morning, no problem - but my weekend alarm, which is set to go off at 8.15 every Saturday and Sunday didn't go off till 9.15!

Have googled & found this happened in Australia last week and apparently it's only a problem with recurring alarms, ie those set to go off every Sunday or every weekday.

I've just done a test and resetting the alarm today, ie after the clock change, doesn't help, if you want a recurring alarm you need to set it an hour earlier than the time you want.
Alarms that are only set to go off once are fine.
Apparently Apple are working on an update to fix it.

Not sure if it's only the iPhone4 or if it affects 3G/3GS phones with the 4.0 software upgrade

Rusty, you're very astute. I am happy with familiarity. I don't even like going on holiday.

But I can't work the dell website. I don't know what this is. It's a Dell Inspiron mini, that much is written on it. Hang on, turned it upside down, it says 1010 on the bottom. That's not on the website is it?

How much are they? There seem to be lots of different ones? I love this one. I just want a better battery maybe.

DollyTwat · 31/10/2010 17:12

I'll go on the Dell site for you later on and post a link to the bit to look at. Have to fo trick or treating stuff first though!

RustyBear · 31/10/2010 17:15

You're right about that website being a pain to navigate but I think this is what you're looking for.

There seem to be a couple of models, the 1012 and the 1018 which will presumably be an update on the model you've got.

Thank you both. Sorry to hijack your thread rather.

That's my laptop Rusty (mine's jade green though ). The middle one has a better battery. Maybe that's what I need. The next one up has bluetooth. You'll be shocked to learn I don't know what that is.

I'm so technologically-challenged. I was born in the wrong century. I just want to stride in the fog whilst wearing a long skirt.

Happy trick or treating.

You can only have black fgs. I want green.

LOL at Rusty advising SOH's. Doing a great job there, Rusty. I am no use with laptops, but happy with my Sony.

I have an iPad too and love it. I would not use it for writing a book, although I have heard that the keyboard is ok.

happilyeverafter · 31/10/2010 19:40

MBIB I have the pages app for iPad, it's quite nifty. I often type up minutes/presentations on it in the cafe while dd has her swimming lesson. Using the laptop would be faster but that wouldn't fit in my handbag and it heavy to take out.

MmeBodyInTheBasement · 31/10/2010 19:59

Yes, I have Pages on there too. I find it ok but make more typing mistakes on iPad. I would use it occasionally but not to write a novel on.

Thanks for posting that Rusty, DH and I both use our iPhone alarms set for every weekday and tests have just shown they would not have worked tomorrow morning! Have now reset to one hour early.

Phew, that's saved an unpleasant Monday morning panic.

happilyeverafter · 31/10/2010 21:20

I agree re: the mistakes! I do feel less conspicious using the ipad out and about though - always feel a bit poncy with the laptop. Think it's because I can stick my handbag next to ipad and it's not visible.
