Oh go on , put me out of my misery - it's the one in the background here

Most of my roses didn't lose all their leaves (London) and look like this. The position would make sense for a climbing or rambling rose, too.

(What's with the sleeve, though? 🤔)

amberedover1 · 10/03/2024 18:21

now now @Sleepthief ,it's plant identification I'm after.

It's too fuzzy .isn't it ?
Could it be a magnolia of some description ??

It doesn't look like a magnolia, but then it doesn't look like anything much, being pretty much out of focus. Why on earth do you want to identify it?

FloreatEtona · 10/03/2024 18:34

I don't think it's a lilac, but my lilac has leaves on it. I live not far from Windsor Great Park. My magnolia hasn't got any leaves yet.

You clearly aren't on the Kate photo conspiracy thread 😳

Sleepthief · 10/03/2024 18:37

I really think it's a rose

amberedover1 · 10/03/2024 19:23

@olderbutwiser sorry . There's a lot of discussion about exactly when the picture was taken and people wondering if it's an n evergreen or a plant with yellowing autumnal leaves etc

OP posts:

Looks exactly like my established Rosa rugosa does at the moment and I’m further north than they are. It has lots of leaves which are the same shade of green and about the same level of “in leaf”.

Honestly this level of conspiracy theory is crazy. The poor woman has had bowel surgery. Leave her alone.

LittleWeed2 · 11/03/2024 07:18

Yes. A rose I think. I would say it's probably a now photo as the background is fuzzy grey/brown like leafless trees. Lawn not a bright green.

LittleWeed2 · 11/03/2024 07:20

Also brown trees reflected in window don't have leaves.

citrinetrilogy · 11/03/2024 14:47

I despair, I really do.

Leave the poor woman alone.

FloreatEtona · 11/03/2024 14:54

My lawn is bright green. My first thought on seeing the photo was that it was an old one.

We don't know that she has has bowel surgery. It could be something like pancreas, gall bladder, liver, stomach, kidneys, bladder, gynae etc

She deserves some privacy regarding her health but the photo didn't help.
I hope she makes a full recovery.
