I think the purple one is liatris spicata (not the right spelling)

Neerdowell · 04/06/2023 15:27

I can't really see the leaves on the pink one. Is it a shrub? Maybe a cistus

wisewomanmummy · 04/06/2023 15:29

I think the pink one is Cosmos.

Neerdowell · 04/06/2023 15:30

Actually changed my mind I think the purple might be a Veronica

Neerdowell · 04/06/2023 15:31

The leaves of the pink one look a bit like a dahlia

Bonbon21 · 04/06/2023 15:31

Tall one is Linaria purpurea.

BovrilonToast · 04/06/2023 15:32

The pink one looks like a peony to me. I have a similar one in my garden.

Bonbon21 · 04/06/2023 15:32

Remove heads after flowering as it will seed all over the place.

Geneticsbunny · 04/06/2023 15:32

I think the pink one is a peony.

Bonbon21 · 04/06/2023 15:35

Pink one is Cosmos?

stringbean · 04/06/2023 15:37

The pink ones look like Cosmos daisies. Is the purple one salvia?

Catname · 04/06/2023 16:20

I'd agree the purple one is Linaria (Toadflax) and the pink is Cosmos.

bilbodog · 04/06/2023 16:26

Pink is a peony.

ChrisPPancake · 04/06/2023 16:57

The pink ones look exactly like the cosmos I wanted to get from the garden centre today, but they didn't have any Sad

I think the pink one is Cosmos.

Me too, maybe Seashells.

Geneticsbunny · 04/06/2023 18:33

The leaves for the pink one are definitely a paeony and I don't think cosmos are in flower yet?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/06/2023 22:26

Cosmos and dahlias aren’t in flower yet.

I think peony (that seems to be peony foliage, not the very finely-cut leaves of cosmos) and linaria.

Bideshi · 04/06/2023 22:34

Peony anomala and linaria purpurea. That's a nice peony.

Rainbow1901 · 04/06/2023 22:53

Is the pink flower not a Japanese anenome?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 04/06/2023 23:24

There’s no Japanese anemone foliage there and they flower in about September.

Pixiedust1234 · 04/06/2023 23:28

if thats a peony then its beautiful! Can you get a picture of its foliage too?

Yamadori · 04/06/2023 23:34

The smaller pale pink one at the back is also linaria. We've had the purple ones self-seeding all over our garden for 30+ years, and occasionally a pink one turns up as well.

PlantDoctor · 04/06/2023 23:36

Recommend the add "PlantNet". You can upload a photo and it usually tells you the species and shows example photos so you can double check! Use it all the time :)

Seaitoverthere · 05/06/2023 08:08

Agree with Peony and Linaria.

MaxandMeg · 05/06/2023 08:10

Stop it with plant net. It’s wildly inaccurate. It’s peony anomala.
