OP posts:
ThePhantomPlopper · 15/06/2009 20:08

11th November is the day my little brother will pass out of the Royal Navy.

The physical is fun. Turn your head and cough.

Hope he gets on well with the rest of the it. I'm sure he will.

madwomanintheattic · 16/06/2009 09:31

isn't the physical the bleep test etc? i think he's already 'coughed' at the medical lol...

i was commissioned on 7th November lol - it always makes me laugh that i can't remember when i joined...

ooo, big adventures ahead for all of you!

ThePhantomPlopper · 18/06/2009 00:26

Ah yes my mistake, physical is mile and half or bleep test. (I threw up all over the MOST gorgeous gym instructor when I did mine for the Navy). Passed though .

madwomanintheattic · 18/06/2009 10:40

tis all done at the local gym these days
no throwing up over uniformed types until you get in the door

OracleInaCoracle · 18/06/2009 20:10

lol, am v jealous of him. he has a 3 day pass to the local gym. i wanna go!!!

OP posts:
ThePhantomPlopper · 20/06/2009 16:50

It was the first and last time I vomited in my entire Naval career. Not even a bout of sea sickness. Hardy Sailor type me!

lissie - I'm jealous too, I didn't get a 3 day pass, I got half an hour! But if you move to a MQ by his base you should be able to use their gym for free. Not sure about RAF rules so I might be wrong.

madwomanintheattic · 20/06/2009 17:01

nah. usually the same. you'll have to attend a familiarisation class and probably pay £5 for your gym pass though. (obviously laminating is quite pricey...)

OracleInaCoracle · 22/06/2009 10:53

woo hoo, passed his physical today!! only the final interview to go!

OP posts:
ThePhantomPlopper · 24/06/2009 20:09

Good luck!
