I know we had a thread a while back, and I'm always hijacking other peoples these days so SOME ADVICE NEEDED

Need to invest in some more cake tins, I have currently been working with a friends tins, but she is talking about starting up again so I will have to give them back

So at the minute I am looking at buying square tins, should I go for seperate sizes of Invicta OR the multi size cake tin

Has anyone got one? what do you think, Is it anygood?

Hello!

Im making my lovely mum a handbag cake for her birthday and putting zebra stripes on it, has anyone any advice?

I was thinking white icing on first then very, very thinly rolled out black icing and just try cutting random patterns to look like zebra sripes!

Any help much appreciated

PlumBumMum · 06/06/2010 23:55

HiMrs Sawyer that is how I would do it, but when I went to my cake supply shop they had a cow print cake and they had painted them on using black colour paste, so will bump this for those with more experience than me

Olihan have made a small start on my top table cake, have iced the board the table is going to sit on, and cut my dummy for the table, still panicing about the size of figures

Ordered Celebrate with a Cake book very good instructios in it for the suits

I used one of these yesterday, fantastic. It was a really gooey cake which would have crumbled into a very creamy scrumptious mess if I had to use a knife or pie slice.

PlumBumMum · 10/06/2010 16:33

Thats really handy, I would always need one of those

Loving Mickey and the pirate cupcakes, Plum and liaghan.

I've done 2 and a half out of 8 so far. I am predicting lots of late nights this week . Will add photos when I can work out how to synchronise camera and MacBook and image reducer.....

Olihan · 14/06/2010 21:44

Will someone PLEASE suggest how I can make a sodding bearded dragon out of modelling paste? It's to go on top of a cake along with a giant millipede and hissing cockroach but I can't make it look like anything other than roadkill . How do I make the little spiky beard and 'trim' around it's body, do you think? Just snip with scissors? Sticking them on does not work.

PlumBumMum · 25/06/2010 01:01

Olihan What did you go with I would have snipped with scissors!

I have 2 figures made for my top tanle wedding cake and am very stressed to how the bride will like it

what have the rest of you been up to?
