At the minute it's chips & gravy from the Chinese with a buttered muffin (or barmcake if you're from round here).

Or a chicken makhan curry with a garlic naan bread & huge chunky chips.

Fimbo · 27/07/2005 14:14

Iklboo · 27/07/2005 14:25

Oh - and it was my birthday on Saturday. My folks had no idea what they should get me so, as well as a couple of trinkety/ornament type things......they got me a M&S Crispy Duck with pancakes and some spring rolls!!

suzywong · 27/07/2005 14:29

lamb and betroot curry from that pukka take out shop in East Finchley, the one that looks like an old fashioned butchers shop from the outside

lucy5 · 27/07/2005 14:29

Kebab, I live in Spain and miss them so much. I am considering coming to UK just to get one. I also miss proper English curry but not as much as Doner Kebabs.

marthamoo · 27/07/2005 14:30

I really shouldn't be on this thread but...

Mixed starter (which at our Indian takeaway is bhajis, samosas, various tikka bits, poppadoms, chutney and raita)
Chicken dhansak, with pilau rice.
Peshwari naan.

And equally mouthwatering:

Mixed starter (which at our Chinese takeaway is satay chicken, crispy seaweed, prawn toasts, wontons, spring rolls, samosas, and barbeque ribs)
Yung chow fried rice, sweet and sour chicken, special chow mein (my favourite is actually crispy duck with pancakes and hoisin sauce but dh won't eat duck).
Oooh and I like egg foo yung too.
And chicken and cashew nuts.

And damn you, I got the menu out to remind me what was in the mixed starter and now I want a takeaway!

Lizzylou · 27/07/2005 14:37

Lamb Saag and plain naan or Mixed Tandoori with veg curry and lots of raita and salad........

Or Chilli Duck with beansprouts and soft noodles

I am sooo hungry now!
