Which brand of frozen pizza is the nicest?

I always have a couple of frozen pizzas in the freezer for emergency meals or when we can't be bothered cooking.

Which brand do you find the best?

I find Asdas were really nice a year or two ago but are now completely tasteless. I like the Dr Oetker Ristorante ones, they are ok, but has anyone found any really nice ones?

i like the dr oetker (or how ever its spelt) the chicken provencal, lots of veggy's on and yummy

cyanarasamba · 30/04/2009 13:45

Goodfellas La Botegga is the best we've found - often on offer as well.

MayorNaze · 30/04/2009 13:47

iceland own brand. dead cheap. dead big. taste good, well the vegi one does anyway

ZoeC · 30/04/2009 13:48

Dr Oetker fan as well here - like the mushroom one myself, dds love ham and pineapple.

Fimbo · 30/04/2009 13:48

I only like Pizza Express pizza. So I buy theirs and freeze it.

Iklboo · 30/04/2009 13:49

Another Dr Oetker fan here - especially the salami one (Speciale I think it's called)
The Iceland ones are really good if you're having friends round and want a few nibbly bits with your drinks

Sheeta · 30/04/2009 13:50

pizza express every time

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 30/04/2009 15:15

I buy Sainsburys fresh ones and freeze them, the spinach and ricotta is very yummy.

PersonalClown · 30/04/2009 15:18

Another vote for Iceland.
Even Ds (asd) eats them and he never touches anything mixed.

MrsTittleMouse · 30/04/2009 15:18

Another vote here for Sainsburys - even though I'm sure they,ve made them smaller.

sweetcat · 30/04/2009 15:34

Yet another vote for Iceland. BBQ chicken is gorgeous.

Supercherry · 30/04/2009 15:36

The Goodfellas one with a tomato stuffed crust, mmmm, delicious.

mrspnut · 30/04/2009 15:38

Dr Oetker - the speciale and the vegetale picante are the ones we buy the most often.

I also like the Goodfellas friday fever meteor pizza but I haven't seen it in the supermarket for a while.

pigsinmud · 30/04/2009 15:40

Goodfellas or Waitrose. Cannot stand Dr Oetker!

chimchar · 30/04/2009 15:41

the goodfellas "takeaway" frozen ones....lush! they come in a box that looks a bit like a takeaway pizza brown cardboard box.

moaningminnie2020 · 30/04/2009 15:45

DR oetker here too, DH is veggie and loves the spicy veg one, I like the margaritas and chicken ones and the bistro french bread pizza ones.

I used to looove Asda's own but they have 'improved' them and now they are crap.

notamumyetbutoneday · 30/04/2009 15:45

so you can just buy fresh ones (in the clear cellophane packaging) and pop them straight in the freezer? Does the cheese not go all funny? Dont know why i think it would it just hasn't occured to me to do this!

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 30/04/2009 15:46

I think so too mrstittlemouse, yet the box is the same size.

MrsTittleMouse · 30/04/2009 16:05

I hate it when manufacturers are so sneaky. The worst that I know of is the Sainsburys brand hot chocolate. 5p more than Cadburys but in a tub that's twice as big - however if you check the contents, they're the same weight, so the own brand is more expensive! Drives me bonkers.

Trouble is the the Sainsbury's vegetarian is drizzled with basil oil and it's so yummy I keep buying it.

cuppateaplease · 30/04/2009 16:43

ChicagoTown Edge to Edge is delicious - absolutely loads of cheese on them

KingRolo · 30/04/2009 16:51

I like the Delicia ones and - yipee - they are £1 in Morrisons at the moment. The Goodfellas takeaeway ones are lovely too.

Dr Oetker are OK but I always find the base a bit soggy. Maybe it's just my crappy oven.

cupofteaplease · 30/04/2009 16:55

Dr Oetker- hawaiin and margherita

CrossWhy · 12/05/2009 00:46

Goodfellas takeaway
Pizza Express
Iceland own brand

candyfluff · 12/05/2009 13:13

chicago town the stuffed crust large one that rises in the oven, yummy
la bottega aswell

WinkyWinkola · 12/05/2009 13:16

Dr. Oetker. Thin base, crisp and crunchy with good topping.
