Which brand of frozen pizza is the nicest?

I always have a couple of frozen pizzas in the freezer for emergency meals or when we can't be bothered cooking.

Which brand do you find the best?

I find Asdas were really nice a year or two ago but are now completely tasteless. I like the Dr Oetker Ristorante ones, they are ok, but has anyone found any really nice ones?

McDreamy · 10/06/2009 10:48

Dr Oetker

princessmel · 10/06/2009 10:49

Dr Oetkar

EyeballshasBackBoobs · 10/06/2009 10:50

I love the mini Chicago Town pizzas. Lived on them for the first 4 months of pg when I couldn't stomach anything else. Mmmmmmm

lou33 · 10/06/2009 10:51

tesco are doing a special offer on fresh ones for a pound atm, really nice ones

i would have stuck them in the freezer but the kids wolfed them all down for dinner last night ( i was going to make food but they saw the pizzas instead)

in fact i think i am off to go stock up on some more

princessmel · 10/06/2009 10:53

I like the Sainsburys chicken and bacon one too. Not frozen.

And the deep dish chicago town ones. They have a funny ridge round the edge.

ohdearwhatamess · 10/06/2009 11:09

M&S bacon and mushroom (but not the more expensive and thinner recently ponced up one which is downright unpleasant). Not frozen, but can be frozen.

Waitrose ones ok.

Dr Oetker very unpleasant imho.

misshardbroom · 10/06/2009 12:59

Aldi 'Specially Selected' ones. Seriously.

spokette · 10/06/2009 13:10

Agree about Aldi's Specially Selected ones. I also like their Carlos self rising pizzas, especially pepperoni.

TheChewyToffeeMum · 10/06/2009 15:32

Yep - Aldi specially selected here too.

AuntieMaggie · 10/06/2009 15:33

Iceland here too - and dead cheap!

I also used to like the asda own brand ones a year or so ago, I mean what on earth happened to them. We have tried loads of different brands and none have really competed. We currently have fresh asda ones or we have the mini deep dish ones but they aren't really the same they don't really feel like pizzas, but at least they taste OK.

I've stopped using frozen pizza and now buy those sachets to make your own base, then add passata cheese and whatever. It takes a bit longer but SOOO much nicer.

Doesn't help you tho'

HarryB · 11/06/2009 10:04

Like Ninja, I try and buy my own bases so can put whatever I like on, but if buying ready made, I tend to buy sainsburys and freeze. Spinach and ricotta is lush. Also love pizza express sloppy guiseppe.
