I havent had my breadmaker out for a year. Got it out today and the instructions/recipe booklet was not inside . I have been onto the Kenwood customer services website and ordered a new one (for the updated model because my model is now obsolete) but does anyone have one to hand in the mean time I so I can ask a few questions?

TIA

I found this website - which has given me the general ingredients and quantities for a basic wholemeal loaf (www.carrsbreadmaker.info) but I am unsure which button to press (duh) or what order to put the ingredients in (duh)

Anyone got one who can help me out?!

TIA

Oh, and the above is for a medium loaf and the Panansonic has a whole wheat bake setting for the loaf.

Hope this (half arsed attempt) helps

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 30/12/2008 17:46

And it takes 5 hours.

Shall I get my coat?!

naswm · 30/12/2008 17:46

I told you it was yeast first Naswm ner ner ne ner ner!

I Naswm asked me on msn and I told her yeast first, water last, but did she listen to me? Oh no, had to come running to MN to check. Harruuummpphhhhhh is all I can say.

My loaf is out in just under 2 hours Naswm. If yours takes 5 hours, won't you be up rather late tonight? )

Twink · 30/12/2008 18:35

May be too late but I have a Kenwood BM200 and use the following for a wholemeal loaf:

1 egg broken into the measuring cup then topped up to 230ml with cold water.

Goes in first, then

1 tbsp olive oil

Sprinkle 300g strong wholemeal flour over the top, then add 50g strong white flour

2 tsp sugar, 1.5 tsp salt sprinkled into different corners.

Make a small hollow in the middle and put in 1 tsp yeast

Cook on programme 1 (2h 45m)

This is our 'standard' everyday loaf and works well. We also follow the same recipe with all white or all granary flour.

Panasonic machines usually put the ingredients in the other way up to us and the basic programme takes ages longer.

HTH

naswm · 30/12/2008 18:49

Twink you are AMAZING!!! That is IT!!!

Told you it was liquid first in my machine DG

Not making it tonight though, will make in the morning. Decided it would be nicer fresh tomorrow.

Thansk everyone for helping

Glad you found this out before making a loaf naswm. How typical of different manufacturers to change the order of ingredients.

naswm · 30/12/2008 18:55

I doubt it really matters - so long as the yeast is kept away from the water

Are you online, because I cant see you...

lol DG, you sound like that character from The Fast Show. BRILLIANT!!!

DumbledoresGirl · 30/12/2008 19:23

Which character would that be Moveit?

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 30/12/2008 19:26

I can't remember the name. But it was played by Paul Whitehouse and he was dressed like a teenage boy, and everything to him was 'brilliant' and he would do a long rambling monologue about 'stuff'.

Go steady there naswm

DumbledoresGirl · 30/12/2008 19:32

LOL I have no idea who you mean (never having actually watched the Fast Show!) but I was curious to know what you would say. Did I ramble on earlier?
