Home made chicken nuggets - how to?

I know this has probably been done to death but does anyone have a quick recipe for home made chicken nuggets please. Haven't got the patience/time to trawl throught the recipe section.
Also any tips for home made oven chips that don't stick to the pan (haven't got a deep fat fryer!)

yes, I use one of those for small amounts

OK well felt shamed into making the effort tonight, so made the AK ones leaving out the the onion and stock powder, but adding crushed garlic.

DS1 (the fuss-meister) wolfed them and pronounced them GREAT. {grin]

DS2 had seconds (no surprises there)

forgt - added a little salt as well for seasoning

pabla · 13/03/2005 21:23

Are you supposed to use raw or pre-cooked chicken in these recipes?

hoxtonchick · 13/03/2005 21:33

raw, pabla.

pabla · 13/03/2005 21:36

Thanks

Pinotmum · 13/03/2005 21:36

Just wanted to say I made Enid's nuggets the other night and they were a huge success so thanks for the recipe.

Xena · 13/03/2005 21:41

Enid do you buy the breadcrumbs or make them?

motherinferior · 13/03/2005 21:42

I made E's recipe today again, after serious entreaties by DD1, and they were great - I mixed it all in the processor, btw.

pixiefish · 13/03/2005 21:42

crushed cornflakes are good as a coating as well

wysiwyg · 13/03/2005 22:55

There's a recipe for this in the Mail on Sunday You magazine today - together with some other healthy meal ideas. It's worth a look.

Made these last monday for the kids - fantastic. So good in fact that DH and I had them for tea later in the week

chezie · 13/04/2005 16:39

How do you make "homemade chicken nuggets"

iota · 13/04/2005 16:45

chezie - there are several recipes at the start of the thread

Another vote here for Enid's nuggets. Tried these this week and they are FAB!! Was so chuffed as my daughter (2) who used to be a great eater and seems to be going through a 'choosy' phase adored these, as did my hubby who has requested that these now feature regularly on our family menu planner. Thank you Enid!

Just also wanted to thank Enid. They're a HIT ... YAAAAY

gloworm · 22/05/2005 14:44

my 2 kids love the Annabel Karmel's nuggets...i never seem to have eggs in the house, so instead of using egg/breadcrumbs, i coat them in small porridge flakes...it makes them really crunchy!

Twiglett · 22/05/2005 14:46

season egg
crush cornflakes
dip chicken in egg then cornflakes

bake in oven 15 mins then turn for 5 mins

they're great - can't remember who's recipe they are though - its a mumsnetters I know that - and the kids love making them

gloworm · 22/05/2005 14:48

also, i make a huge batch and freeze them. they cook from frozen really quickly. much handier than making them from scratch every time.

When we have homemade nuggets, I make a dip which is basically a tub of Philidelphia (or stores own), 'loosened' with the juice of half a lemon (or jif works fine). Then I add chives / garlic etc depending on what I fancy. Much nicer than the ready made cheese dips

CountessDracula · 06/08/2006 17:42

does anyone have a recipe using cooked chicken?

shoobaloo · 11/08/2006 17:29

Think I will give these a try for DS who is 11 months - is that too young? Anyway, how do you make breadcrumbs? Can I use a jug blender to mince up the chicken? If not can I buy chicken mince?
