I Luuurrvvve Eton Mess.
Except I had it in a poncy restaurant once...and tehy just didn't make it messy enough.
They got a huge margarita style glass. Stuck 2 strawberries in the bottom. plonked the cream on top. and then put 2 nice neat spherical meringue thingies (still intact - not crushed) on top.
It was far too sickly. The cream was too much "on its own". There was no coolie stuff. Just 2 strawberries. It was a bad experience.
It is actually something which my works canteen can do well - given that it works best when it is literally thrown together.
