About half of the garden.

A tree peony in my small patio garden, and if I stand on tip-toes a tiny bit of the Thames

sharkstale · 06/04/2026 09:26

Kitchen is at front so my view is the houses opposite. Thankfully, the houses are beautiful and the street is tiny and quiet with a bricked road, so it could be worse, but I'm envious of all those with a view over fields.

Why is this in food/recipes?

Because you make food in a kitchen?

JustbrotherscarlenaNsoul · 06/04/2026 15:10

Block of flats and small wooded area.

Bluegreenbird · 06/04/2026 15:39

In the summer beautiful trees either side of a small river. In the winter a train track behind a small river.

Fishingboatbobbingnight · 06/04/2026 16:04

An apple and cherry orchard about 10 metres from my kitchen window with the blossom just about to burst into life. There are two ewes and their twin lambs bouncing around. It makes washing up a lovely experience.

Dragonscaledaisy · 06/04/2026 16:27

Fields with a glimpse of hills in the distance to the left, the orchard then woodland to the right. I love seeing lights twinkling in the hills at night.

A couple of small moored yachts.

That sounds gorgeous

Next door's garden. We live in a really old house and the garden layouts are weird - our garden is on the side of our house, and next door's garden is behind. Apparently there used to be a very tiny high window where you couldnt really see out, and then a previous owner put a normal sized window in at some point. We've recently changed the window to frosted glass which made our neighbours very happy!

Huh? How can you not have a kitchen window? I’ve never come across that and I’ve lived in (& viewed) a LOT of houses & flats over the last 26 years.

I never had a kitchen window in 4 flats I’ve lived in. It was a large open plan room and the window was in the living room area at the other end.

I don’t have a kitchen window.

Same

Gardenquestion22 · 06/04/2026 18:42

The garden, next door’s thatched roof, the top floor of another neighbour, a huge tub of tulips just starting to bloom outside the floor length window. At the stove if I look one way there’s a red fern and shady ferns small courtyard, if I look the other there’s the autumn flowering cherry in the front garden.

Nincompoo · 07/04/2026 08:44

I live on a hill so can see my own 3/4 acre garden full of trees and then beyond that about a million trees and a few houses.

Randomchat · 07/04/2026 08:46

Berlinlover · 05/04/2026 21:38

My neighbour’s seven foot wall is right outside the window.

Same. I was beginning to think I was the only person in the world without a beautiful view from their kitchen window

ILoveDaffodills · 07/04/2026 08:55

I'm not quite 5ft so all I can see is top of the fence of neighbours that back on to mine & the tops of the trees they have along their fence line & today lots of blue sky and kites (the birds) flying around.

MissAmbrosia · 07/04/2026 08:57

We're on the 5th floor so I can see the tops of the buildings across the street and then for miles - houses and trees. And aeroplanes coming in to land on certain days of the week.

bloomchamp · 07/04/2026 09:08

My kitchen is at the front. I’m sitting on my perching stool watching the young man who’s staying with us currently (YMCA’s open door scheme) helping to fix the lad next doors bike. Neighbour over the road washing his car yet again and someone’s getting some bricks delivered.

begonefoulclutter · 07/04/2026 09:19

The back garden, the best part of which at the moment is a lovely big camellia by the fence at the far end which is currently absolutely covered in large pink flowers.

RaraRachael · 07/04/2026 09:22

Nothing. Frosted window through to the utility room.

rainbowunicorn22 · 07/04/2026 09:33

just moved to our bungalow we have a piece of grass outside our kitchen and bedroom windows which in theory is communal but is only shared with next door and he does not use it. So we put up our bird feeders and its lovely to do the washing up watching all the lovely birds coming and going plus cheeky squirrels! Beyond that I can just see the primary school playground which i love to listen to them all playing the noises i grew up with living by a school too.
on a practical note i can see the washing line so can keep an eye on it see if it is ok

Goodmorningvinyasa · 07/04/2026 12:56

I’m in a top floor flat so I can see the houses and gardens opposite, beyond that there’s the local tube station, a couple of churches, plenty of trees, and some nearby landmarks

Belladog1 · 07/04/2026 12:58

A graveyard 😆 Halloween hits differently around my house 👻

Tiddlywinks63 · 07/04/2026 15:23

Down my garden to my lovely Shed ( summerhouse) then to the woods that run along behind us and down into the valley.
I can watch the birds on the feeders and the sunsets behind the trees.
It’s very peaceful here.

RaraRachael · 07/04/2026 17:19

Sounds lovely @Tiddlywinks63
