I wonder if I am eating enough for them I seem to be constantly starving

for breakfast I have 30g oats and half an apple and a spoonful of raisins and a banana midmorning

and then for lunch a sarnie with 2 slices bread and a yogurt

I have a big bowl of nuts, cereal and seeds with yogurt (from the Eat Natural range, gorge)

Keeps me going til lunch time

Then have a sandwich or something-on-toast with the dds

I have a vast gargantuan breakfast
4 spoons of oats and a handful of raisins, handful of seeds, usually 3 or 4 other fruits chopped and a load of soya milk
I have to have a specially large bowl to put it all in

then lunch usually a sandwich with 2 large slices of bread and usually some salad and hummus or dressing, or beans on toast

if you are active what you describe is not a lot to keep you going IMO

Cappuccino · 12/06/2008 20:14

I am getting all shaky and hypoglaeceeeeemic

praps I should eat more

praps I should eat more

I mean I am not losing weight by any stretch of the imagination but I tend to eat loads at night + wine + chocolate

hmm priorities wrong maybe

lots of chopped fruit with handful of oats/granola and two large spoons o yoghurt. Or toast and fruit, two or three slices depending on the bread.

Lunch, soup or salad, packet of sushi if in town.

Guadalupe · 12/06/2008 20:17

it all goes downhill in the evening for me too. If I have wine I like chocolate, and cake.

SixSpotBurnet · 12/06/2008 20:20

This happens to me too. I don't eat much during the day but by the time I get in from work I feel weak and rush to the refrigerator to stuff my face. Then it's wine o'clock and then dinner - never earlier than 9 p.m.

I know this is rubbish but I seem pretty hopeless at doing anything about it...

I have to admit I don't know what granola is

but good idea

Capp I think you should have another small meal mid afternoon
eg bean salad / bowl of lentil soup / yogurt with fruit, seeds and nuts

that'll sort you out until dinner hopefully

franny you might be right

I had a little slice of carrot and banana cake this pm with wholemeal flour but it still didn't work

I guess a couple of gratings of carrot don't make it a meal

OP posts:
Guadalupe · 12/06/2008 20:30

granola

Guadalupe · 12/06/2008 20:31

protein fills you up more, can you have something beany or some nuts

notnowbernard · 12/06/2008 20:34

I bought some packet Granola the other day from supermarket (was on offer)

It was like eating crushed up Hobnobs

Far too sweet for me

But like the idea of it with yogurt... can you buy natural anywhere?

FrannyandZooey · 12/06/2008 20:35

I agree with Guad
you need something with protein in, the carb dip is what is making you feel shaky I reckon

Guadalupe · 12/06/2008 20:41

it can be very sugary but some are more naturally sweetened. Actually, oats are probably better for not getting a sugar plummet later but it is delicious with yoghurt. I love it.

I'm ging through a 'fat phase' at the moment, so am gorging myself on toast AND ceral at breakfast. Can't stop.

But usually, when I am showing more restraint I will only have cereal, and then soup or a sarnie for lunch.
