I wonder if I am eating enough for them I seem to be constantly starving

for breakfast I have 30g oats and half an apple and a spoonful of raisins and a banana midmorning

and then for lunch a sarnie with 2 slices bread and a yogurt

I'm going through a 'fat phase' at the moment, so am gorging myself on toast AND ceral at breakfast. Can't stop.

But usually, when I am showing more restraint I will only have cereal, and then soup or a sarnie for lunch.

porridge with raisins OR granary toast with peanut butter
snack of grapes/apple
lunch is usually sandwich or salady stuff (but big salad, not wimpy lettuce crap)
banana on way home from work
dinner at 7ish

I also have a bag of mixed nuts in my desk which gets snarfed over my 3 day working week

I eat more at work as I don't have 2 small people wanting half

I have a bowl of homemade muesli (about 5 spoonfuls) it's oats, seeds & dried fruit maybe nuts, with soya milk, at 7.30ish

I have fruit mid-morning and sometimes a cereal bar or oat biscuits as well

Usually salad for lunch, with tuna, hard boiled egg, hoummous etc and some oatcakes or crackers.

Snack mid-afternoon, usually a small piece of cake, or biscuits, or fruit if I'm not too hungry (not often!)

Supper at about 6 (i.e. main meal of the day)

Usually don;t eat anything much after that during week but at weekend maybe some chocolate

Writing it all down I am a bit at myself actually

Fairly sure I couldn;t live on air though

I eat constantly

Cappuccino · 12/06/2008 22:00

maybe quantities differ

I do have a v bad sweet tooth though which I need to sort

ladymariner · 12/06/2008 22:06

Couldn't do without breakfast, I'd be eating my own feet by 11 if I didn't have it!!
Either two weetabix, or a big bowl of bran flakes, with raisins, blueberries and chopped-up banana on it.
I love my breakfast

jesus, that's fuck all.

I have two bowls of cereal for breakfast

for lunch I have two cheese sandwiches, a banana and occasionally crisps if I'm still hungry.

I am not fat either btw. I couldn't survive on what you eat.

cyteen · 13/06/2008 11:31

God, I eat quite a lot.

Big bowl of cereal with fruit, or toast + some fruit, for breakfast - I can't do anything without it, except go pale and have to sit down a lot.

If I'm at work, lunch is usually a large sanger (baguette or similar) with cheese and salad, lots more fruit, sometimes a bag of crisps or some nuts, sometimes some chocolate or cake. If at home, lunch is whatever I can lay my hands on - pasta, last night's leftover chilli/soup or whatever, huge salad with feta or eggs or something, beans on toast. Plus whatever fruit I've got in the house.

I snack a lot as well Basically I just love stuffing my face. But I walk everywhere and need the energy - hate the weak and wobbly feeling that comes from not eating enough.

OrmIrian · 13/06/2008 11:33

I'm not surprised you are starving. Lots of carbohydrate but virtually no protein.

I eat either a big bowl of rhubarb or berries with oats and greek yoghurt. Or 2 boiled eggs, 2 slices of w/meal bread with proper butter. After that I often don't want lunch at all.

Cap have 2 boiled eggs for breakfast and a slice of wholemeal toast. I swear I'm never hungry mid morning when I have that. Guad is right it is to do with the protein. Unfortunately beans have quite a bit of sugar so don't work for me, but eggs are great.

Deffo you need more protein throughout the day, and more food in general! That way you'll have the energy to be more active and burn it off anyway IYSWIM?!

My daily food intake is quite alot compared to some people but I do run 50 miles a week.

Breakfast is about 2oz oats/readybreak with soymilk, peanut butter, coconut and loads of raisins mixed in. Plus and apple and sometimes a slice of toast and marmite if I'm still hungry.

Usually nothing between this and lunch except some green tea.

Lunch: Can be anything but usually a sandwich with tow large slices of ww or rye bread, homemade hummus, tempeh and plenty of salad and tomatoes.
And some kettle chips...

May have a soy yoghurt mid afternoon

Dinner is then at about 7-8 and is generally something based around beans or lentils, greens, and rice or quinoa ect.

Generally followed by dark chocolate or a fruit salad/ dried fruit.

Minum · 18/06/2008 12:23

I have a fried breakfast, or omlette every morning, then a salad & protein lunch. I am careful to avoid bread/sugar etc otherwise I get terrible hunger pains and the shakes.

I eat a cooked meal with the family in the evening, and avoid the starchy bit. I'm loosing weight slowly, and am rarely hungry, so I'm realy happy.
