Mustard
Salami
Corned beef
Percy Pigs

You've never eaten mustard??

That honestly blows my mind.

Why? It's such a basic food...

BootMaker · 14/12/2025 04:58

I've eaten;

Bear
Whale
Puffin
Seal
Guinea pig
Insects
Arachnids

I wouldn't eat slugs. Have obviously eaten snails.

I've eaten frogs but love amphibians so not keen.

I do only like to eat humanely reared or wild caught animals, which is why frogs don't do it for me...

FIFIBEBE · 14/12/2025 05:10

An egg

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 14/12/2025 07:33

Tomato ketchup - even as a child the very idea of it freaked me out. I won’t even touch the bottle and if we go anywhere that has it on the table, DP has to move it so that I can’t even see it.

Nothing!

I had fufu and egusi for the first time tonight.

Delicious.

I would literally eat anything. I ate whale a few weeks ago (in Norway).

A whole one?!

Sgtmajormummy · 14/12/2025 07:51

Thai green curry.
It’s on my “to do” list because I’m sure I’d like it but don’t want to start experimenting before I’ve had the real thing.

shellyleppard · 14/12/2025 07:52

Offal, oysters and mussels

I haven't tried any of those, have never seen them but would, I love trying new foods and there's very little I won't eat.

SabrinaThwaite · 14/12/2025 10:25

In the spirit of ‘try everything once’ I did try hakarl.

Never again.

EleanorReally · 14/12/2025 10:26

Oyster
lobster
tripe

SleafordSods · 14/12/2025 10:37

I don’t think it’s a common food but I’ve never tried Black Pudding.

Black pudding is common every supermarket sells it.
I think it's because what it's made from puts a lot of people off.
Personally love it ,airfried and in a softy.

DarkEyedSailor · 14/12/2025 13:17

Black pudding baked on top of smoked haddock and served with mushy peas is a thing of beauty.

A LOT of the foods mentioned on here aren’t common, I would imagine the OP meant things like bread and cheese

It is a very common food. It is sold in every supermarket, all the corner shops and garages I've ever been in. It also features on loads of restaurant menus in some form or other. It is definitely a popular food.

Tripe.

Same here. I've never ever tried it but I just know that I won't like it. 🤢

I wouldn't exactly call any of these "common"!

Thewalrusandthecarpenter · 14/12/2025 17:53

McDonald’s
Burger King
Domino’s pizza

SushiDisco · 14/12/2025 17:56

shepherds pie

wendywoopywoo222 · 14/12/2025 17:59

I think the only thing I haven’t tried that I have seen on a menu is oysters. Just can’t bring myself to try them

Livpool · 14/12/2025 18:08

Squash/pumpkin/yam

The smell turns my stomach 🤢

candycanetime · 14/12/2025 18:30

Whitebait and anchovies.

PocketSand · 14/12/2025 18:57

I don’t think these things are common - I have never eaten cheese or ham (all cooked meats) or eggs or anything like spiced sausage or pastrami or any variant. Or hummus or any variant. Or olives etc.
