I have a fab easy one that the kids love using yogurt - have never looked like those but am happy to post the receipe if you'd like

OR should we just sod it all and stick the kids on a bus to london tomorrow like the lady in the heat magazine advert!?

dizzydixies · 21/05/2008 17:01

you should have a wee peek at this page but be warned, am taking no responsibility for your actions once you've looked

Dizzy - please do post your recipe!!

Have you had cheesecake from there though? I did for DH's b'day and wasn't very impressed - maybe I was unlucky.

dizzydixies · 21/05/2008 20:40

sniffy no. we've never had one, just admired from afar, how disappointing that you weren't impressed by it, its really dh thats the cheesecake freak - I've just about managed to perfect a white chocolate cheesecake with him as a guinea pig

cupcakes here:

125g sunflower spread
125g caster sugar
2 medium eggs, beaten
1 x 125g pot fruit flavoured yoghurt
100g self raising flower

icing here:
100g soft cream cheese
40g icing sugar
1tbsp marmalade

sprinkles if you want

put sunflower spread/sugar/eggs/flour and half the tub of youhurt into a bowl and mix it up using electric whisk

half fill paper cases and pop in oven at 180 degrees for approx 18mins

cool on wire rack

beat cream cheese/icing sugar and marmalade together and cpread over cooled cakes

WARNING - these are VERY addictive

I use tesco finest lemon curd yoghurt (stole one of dh's once) and it was LOVELY but stgrawberry yoghurts are nice too

because you only use half a pot of the yoghurt for one batch I normally make 2

marmalade icing is lovely too - have made it with normal orange marmalade and lemon & lime marmalade which is also lovely!

enjoy ladies

I feel a baking fest coming on

I thought the cheesecake was a bit watery and just not as utterly delish as I had hoped (v. expensive so high expectations!)

DH prefers Nigella's my baked version.

meridian · 22/05/2008 09:25

QuintessentialShadows · 07/06/2008 15:30

Can totally vouch for dizzydixes cupcakes.

ComeOVeneer · 07/06/2008 15:40

Swiss buttercream is good for icing and decorating with sugarpaste flowers are good, or do embossed fondant. Also do butterflies/mini shoes/handbags/mini tea sets etc, the possibilities are endless.

Look here and here and here is where I get my insipiration for the cupcakes I do.

micku5 · 08/06/2008 16:19

Dizzy - could you please post the recipe for your cheesecake. I tried to make one recently and wasn't my best effort.

Thanks

OverMyDeadBody · 08/06/2008 16:24

get a good icing piping bag and I guarantee you'll have lovely decorated cup cakes!
