feetheart · 29/04/2008 11:30

DD (5.2) would eat salmon and spaghetti at EVERY meal given half a chance

For 2 of them (DS is 2.6) cook 1 salmon fillet in juice of a lemon and some butter in oven for 15-20mins. Cook spaghetti. Mash up cooked salmon and 'sauce', stir into spagetti. Serve with veg of your choice. Dead easy and clean plates all round in our house.

wannaBe · 29/04/2008 11:30

macaroni cheese.
and roast chicken with mashed potato, carrots, peas, gravy and... yorkshire pudding.

QueenTaLcY · 29/04/2008 11:31

dd2..chicken curry with 'sticky white rice'

ingles2 · 29/04/2008 11:32

ds1 homemade egg fried rice
ds2 yaki soba or any sort of stir fry noodle

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 29/04/2008 11:33

Tatterdemalion · 29/04/2008 11:35

Alien pasta (yes really I know your thinking 'she is lying no child would ever eat that let alone it be their favorite' but my 2 ask for it EVERY day. They are quite normal in every other respect)

sorry Alien pasta is

Cheese sauce with lots of steamed spinach whizzed up in it so it is bright lurid green

over pasta.

Tatterdemalion · 29/04/2008 11:36

you're bugger

lovemyshoes · 29/04/2008 11:36

DD1's favourite is mushroom and courgette lasange (it is divine but an arse to make)

DD2's is anything that contains meat.

blinkingthreetimes · 29/04/2008 11:37

Second roast dinner

slien pasta sounds great

DWP I might try that next time I always make an extra lot as dp Likes to eat it at night

oiFoiF · 29/04/2008 11:37

mine both like sausage casserole
ds1 likes spag bol and dd likes sausage, chips and beans

easy to please are my kids

Oliveoil · 29/04/2008 11:38

roast chicken and potatoes with raw carrots, peppers and houmous

OR

penne pasta with Ragu sauce (in sachet)

anything which is boring and without any sauce mainly

they basically eat about 4 types of meals on rotation just to drive me to drink

spokette · 29/04/2008 11:39

DTS (4yo)

Steamed salmon with mash potato, carrots and broccoli.

Roast chicken with roast potato, stuffing, carrots, swede and broccoli

Lamb curry with mash potato, carrots and broccoli

Chicken curry with mash potato, carrots and broccoli.

Grilled sausages with mash potato or chips, carrots and broccoli or baked beans

Chicken meat loaf with mash potato, carrots and broccoli.

Irish stew with aforementioned vegetables

Try as I might, they will not eat rice, cous-cous or even pasta!! So potato it is!! Similarly the only vegetables that they will eat are carrots, broccoli and swede

Psychomum5 · 29/04/2008 11:41

DD1....roast/spag bol/tuna pasta
DD2....sausage and mash/roast/butter pasta (literally pasta with melted butter)
DD3....spag bol/lasagna/something with fish/roast
DS1....sausage and mash/tuna pasta/pizza
DS2....toad-in-the-hole with gravy/curry/roast (altho will only eat yorkshire pudds and gravy)/beans and sausages/tuna pasta (never eats potato's or bread/toast)

we have a lot of roasts and I often do pasta with several sauces for each child!!!

spamm · 29/04/2008 11:43

Tuna pasta bake (with peas)

MargaretMountford · 29/04/2008 11:43

ds loves sushi or a duck wrap...any Chinese/Japanese/Indian/Thai food in fact

MargaretMountford · 29/04/2008 11:45

oh, and home cooking - pasta with pesto is a favourite followed by slices of mango...he'll eat pretty much anything apart from mince, cheese or milk things

Buda · 29/04/2008 11:47

DS is 6.5 and his favourite is spagetti with grated cheese. Also loves pizza.

MissusH · 29/04/2008 11:48

DD (6yo)
Roast chicken, roast potatoes, cabbage & broccoli, yorksire pudding

Cottage pie with peas and veg

Plain pasta with grated cheese (no other sauce!)

Spag bol or lasagne

Mild curry with rice

Sausage & mash, onion gravy, veg

Fajitas with salsa & sour cream

Ham sandwiches...

haggisaggis · 29/04/2008 11:51

My 2 (8 and 5.5) like best:
homemade lasagne
beef sate (they love this and will eat my helping too if given the chance)
home made chicken gougons
fish pie
pasta with pesto
brocoli pasta (make a sauce with broccoli, garlic, butter, anchovies and parmesan)

Midn you - they're not fussy eaters, eat all sorts of veg and love salad!
Lucky I am!!

Mercy · 29/04/2008 11:54

I have the same problem with ds oliveoil. He would eat sausage and mash every day if I let him. But dd understandably wants to branch out a bit now.

Thanks for the ideas so far.
