Why do they even put cherry yoghurts in multipacks?

BlowDryRat · 08/07/2024 18:34

I am so sick of having a sad collection of single yoghurts that no one likes, discarded from multipacks. It's either strawberry, UPF or multis. Who even likes black cherry?!

Looking on the Longley Farm site reminded me of the gooseberry one, ooh!

I had a look at their stockists.

Wizardcalledoz · 08/07/2024 18:52

I wish they sold multipacks of just cherry flavour!

They do sometimes- in Activia I think.

I'm pretty sure Aldi do a 500g pot of black cherry too.

GigiAnnna · 08/07/2024 18:56

If you're talking about Mullerlights, raspberry is the gross one.

Wizardcalledoz · 08/07/2024 18:56

Ohh thank you @MrHarleyQuin I'll have a look. Im notnoften in Aldi but I might make a trip just for that!

Oh they are horrible, Dh used to eat them but he's gone off yoghurt. I've started buying citrus flavours or Single strawberry

APurpleSquirrel · 08/07/2024 18:57

My favourites are cherry, raspberry & lemon!
Strawberry is usually too artificial, sweet & full of sloppy blobs of 'fruit' that make me gag. Peach has to be the most boring.
I once had a lovely lemon & lime Oykos yogurt in Lanzarote - found them for a few months in the Uk, never again. It's been 5 years & I still check every week.

ditalini · 08/07/2024 18:57

Do they still make peach melba? That was my favourite.

Anyway:
Black cherry
Peach
Pear
Hazelnut
Vanilla

are my favourite. I hoover up all the ones everyone else doesn't like, plus can guarantee the ones I buy for me won't get nicked.

S0livagant · 08/07/2024 18:59

I'd buy a multi pack of black cherry full fat greek style yoghurts if I saw them.

Aldi website only shows low fat/fat free and a 'soya pot'.

The responses make me think we need a multipack swap zone in supermarkets.

As we're on tiers, yoghurts in this house:

Peach, mango, apricot, passion fruit: top tier
Strawberry: standard fare
Raspberry, cherry: left to rot tier

Cherry yoghurts taste nothing like actual cherries.

They're my favourite.

Strawberry is the last to be eaten here.

Cherry is the best. My daughter was mostly made of cherry yogurt, it was my only real craving and I ate two large tubs of it a week. Happy days.

Banana is the worst.

Hazelnut is very nice. Rarely seen, sadly.

Marks and Spencer, Sainsbury's and Waitrose all do it. It's my favourite 🤩

I'd turn your list upside down! I'd only want full fat greek style though so I just buy a kilo and add my own fruit.

i buy forest fruits frozen and eat with greek yoghurt, most days,
i have to suffer the blackberries but love the black cherries and the blackcurrants

gano · 08/07/2024 19:15

They put them in for me. Cherry is the best flavour!

StiffyByngsDogBartholomew · 08/07/2024 19:17

I make my own cherry layer with whizzed up defrosted frozen black cherries thickened with arrowroot and a bit of sugar - it stays clear if you use the arrowroot just like it does in those lovely layered Greek yogs in the little jars. Takes two minutes then I make my own layer yoghurts using some recycled Aldi yoghurt jars, Greek yoghurt and a bit of vanilla extract stirred into the yoghurt. Heaven and Upf free (arrowroot is a natural thickener used for centuries so it's not Upf like the xanthan gum they stick in everything now)

MartyFunkhouser · 08/07/2024 19:20

I haven’t eaten a yoghurt for decades, but even so, I agree with you.

SprigatitoYouAndIKnow · 08/07/2024 19:44

Cherry yoghurt is yum!
Blackcurrant I would generally avoid due to the texture. Tiny fruit makes it too lumpy.

Peach yoghurt tastes of sick.

DuesToTheDirt · 08/07/2024 19:49

Black cherry is the best. Peach though, I can't be doing with peach!

NewMe2024 · 08/07/2024 19:51

Excellent use of the voting buttons OP, well done 👏👏 👏

BouleDeSuif · 08/07/2024 19:54

Black cherry is the best. Longley Farms yoghurt is also the best. (Apple for the win)

ChimbarasiKotapaxi · 08/07/2024 19:55

I like cherry I don't like strawberry

I was wondering why I didn't like the peach anymore and I think you have found the reason, it was peach melba I loved. No idea what made it a melba but it was lovely.

Where is everyone buying the less common ones of banana, pear and mandarin?

Apricot and mango can both be thrown in the bin. Red or black cherry ftw ❤

Mrsjayy · 08/07/2024 20:16

@ditalini Morrisons do an acceptable peach yoghurt.

Years ago i had a gorgeous melon yoghurt on holiday and I've never been able to find it.
