Recommendations on dessert cereal

RedRobyn2021 · 12/05/2024 15:00

I'm pregnant and have a hankering for cereal every evening, I only buy "healthy" cereal normally weetabix or shredded wheat or at a push bran flakes.

I want some of the sugary junk that they sell but what to choose!? There are so many

Please park your recommendations here

CuteCillian · 12/05/2024 19:53

I think you're the one who needs to read the OP properly!

She usually buys healthy cereal and is looking for something different.

Yes I know and if you scroll back and actually see I have already addressed it MANY times 🙄

RedBananas12 · 12/05/2024 19:56

Krave is my favourite. The Aldi one is actually nicer than krave.

Lovelynames123 · 12/05/2024 19:57

Nutty Granola or Strawberry crisp, often have them for supper!

AGAIN I’ve already addressed this it’s getting boring now !!!! Scroll back and actually read my post where I apologised 🙄🙄🙄🙄

Can you get Oreo O's in the UK?

“Full of calories” does not equal unhealthy.

low calories does not mean something is healthy.

granola is higher in calories than crunchy nut.

anyway:
cornflakes- good!
nuts- good!
honey- good!

sounds perfectly healthy to me :)

oh dear, well I tend to go back and forwards on threads personally, not everyone will have seen your apology (as I didnt), report it to remove the post, thats what I do when I've misread something and said something that doesnt make sense. Fairly regular occurance.

I ate Frosties for virtually every meal the whole of my first trimester with DC1, and she turned out to be lovely, so I recommend making your baby out of Frosties.

Do Frosties even still exist? I haven't been able to face eating them since.

I put Cadbury drinking chocolate powder on my Special K - I though that was decadent, but I think you win x

Love the suggestions!

Haven't had crunchy nut for years they were always very good

But I forgot wheetos used to be my favourite cereal

I am intrigued by the kitkat cereal though 🤔

OP you can just eat the Kit Kat cereal out of the box, without bothering with milk.

I'm not recommending this because I did it, of course

OMGitsnotgood · 13/05/2024 17:48

I eat cheerios without milk sometimes while watching telly. Marginally healthier if not as delicious as chocolate or biscuits

Ilovemyshed · 13/05/2024 18:24

Frosties.
Weetabix with condensed milk.

bloodyeffinnora · 13/05/2024 18:59

I love mini shredded wheat

Cancel the cheque.

Although I absolutely love chocolate, I really don't like chocolate cereal.

Comedycook · 14/05/2024 11:53

I love raisin granola. When I'm feeling extra naughty, I add brown sugar to it. The milk then has this delicious sweetness. It's so good

Jeannne92 · 14/05/2024 11:54

M&S used to make one with dried apple, cinnamon and yoghurt coated flakes. It was really sweet and was my go-to on the first day of my period a couple of times a year when I was younger and had a sweeter tooth. I don't know if they still sell it (I think I saw it in an M&S within the last year or two).

Chewbecca · 14/05/2024 11:56

I ate loads of crunchy nut cornflakes when pregnant and the taste still reminds me of that time now, 20 years on.
Unfortunately m&S have make a load of changes to their cereals and they're nothing like as good as they used to be, I loved the strawberry and almond crunch.

salamithumbs · 14/05/2024 11:57

I second M&S triple chocolate crunch! And crunchy nut goes without saying...
I also like Krave if it's properly soaked in milk!

starsinyourpies · 14/05/2024 11:57

Got to be coco pops

Beamur · 14/05/2024 11:57

Chocolate mini Weetabix are delicious and perfect with or without milk.
I'm also quite partial occasionally to what used to be called Sugar Puffs, I think they're honey puffs now?
Coco pops also hard to beat.
With full fat milk.
I used to mix Special K and Rice Krispies together during my pregnancy carb cravings, haven't eaten it since!

StoneColdAlibi · 14/05/2024 11:57

Also get some double cream and add a swirl along with your milk to make any cereal extra decadent. Weirdly works really well with bran flakes and some golden granulated sugar sprinkled on.
