Buttered toast and fresh orange juice.
Boil in the bag cod in parsley sauce in a parcel of puff pastry.
A whole roast chicken to myself.
Viennetta.

The only one I'd eat nowadays is the chicken!

Topbird29 · 05/05/2024 22:32

Poached egg with toast and ketchup. My nan had a egg poacher- so perfect half globe eggs, runny in the middle. But a technique - eat the whites with the cryst of the bread, then left with oozy ketchup yolk on the middle bit of toast.
Or frosties.
Or slice white bread with butter and my nans homemade blackberry and apple jelly jam.

My nans homemade pasty with baked beans (cold), and her home made marrow chutney.

Chicken findus crispy pancakes.
Cottage pie, beans and ketchup.

I stayed a lot of school holidays at nan and grandads, and she was a better cook than my mum!

LieutOliviaBenson · 05/05/2024 22:41

Cornflakes with warm milk and loads of sugar.
Tomato soup and crusty bread.
My nan's Sunday toast.

LieutOliviaBenson · 05/05/2024 22:42

Sunday roast, not toast!

localshop · 05/05/2024 22:50

Breakfast - ready brek or weetabix with hot milk and sugar
Lunch - either a flakey Cornish pastie from Hagenbachs with Branson pickle, or Heinz vegetable soup with cheese and cream crackers

Sugar puffs

Heinz tomato soup with cheese on toast
Ski hazelnut yoghurt.

Afternoon - Mr Kipling Jam Tart and pickled onion space invaders

Feeling very nostalgic now.

Bernard Matthews Turkey drumsticks, chips and beans

FairyBreadQueen · 10/05/2024 20:04

Oh my! Thsi is my sort of thread. For context- I'm Australian, born in 1975.

School days

B- white toast with butter and honey
L- white bread ham sandwich with apple juice box and a pack of something called chickadees. Or bbq shapes.
D- chicken schnitzel with onion gravy, mashed potato, honey sesame buttered carrots and boiled frozen broad beans with butter or margarine. Or meatloaf instead of the schnitzel but always the same veg sides.

Weekends

B- croissants with apricot jam and butter and loads of black coffee
L- My father's homemade gnocchi with homemade tomato and basil sauce- we are not Italian but I was brought up in Carlton in Melbourne which is a very Italian area. We'd often go out afterwards for gelati- my favourite was pistachio.
D- roast of some sort- and very very often a starter of pumpkin soup with cheesy toasts.

CadyEastman · 10/05/2024 20:17

Ham & Sandwich Spread Sarnie

Fish in Butter Sauce with tinned potatoes & Marrowfat Peas

Tea: hated it but spam. Improved with butterscotch angel delight for dessert.
