What do you serve with fishcakes?

Just that really. I love fishcakes but never know what to eat them with. As they are potato based, more potatoes seem overkill?

I’ve picked up some shop bought cod and kimchi Korean fishcakes and was going to make tomorrow with a salad with Asian style dressing. It will be enough for me but worried not filling enough for DH and teens.

Also suggestions what to eat with regular cod or salmon fishcakes much appreciated

Always green veg, if I am really hungry I'll have a few chips, I'm not scared of carbs with carbs. Had some the other day and had broccoli cheese with them.

when we do fish cakes I always do chips/new potatoes on the side for dh & dc because they can eat but I just have the accompanying veg/salad and no extra carbs because its genuinely enough for me and I’m not a small eater

We have either 1 fishcake and then new potatoes and salad or we have two fishcakes with salad - it is on the lighter side for a dinner but that is why i like it sometimes.

Potato gratin and peas. no such thing as too many potatoes!

My thoughts exactly .

But I've had them with salad when out . I think if you just have with salad you need more than one fish cake.

A Fattoush salad (Middle Eastern) with corn on cob.

With traditional ones boiled potatoes, peas and loads of proper parsley sauce.

Sweetcorn.

Peas, broccoli and carrots. Possibly a bit of tartare sauce or a slice of lemon

I usually make my own fishcakes and do a creamy sauce to go with it and either peas or some other green veg
