Half a grapefruit please (I am a 90s child but the seventies looked WILD in food terms. I recently came across a cookbook for microwaves published in that decade and although disappointingly it didn’t include Black Forest gateau or prawn cocktail, it did include cooking an entire chicken in a microwave and even weirder, making ice cream in a microwave? I think it’s in storage atm or I’d make a whole thread just showing the different pages of that book).
Anyway. Black pudding or fermented herring? That’ll sort the Swedes from… the rest of the world.

@CeciledeVolangesdeNouveau , My family had a microwave when they 1st became reasonably easy to buy ( tho there was still a 3 week waiting list ) .it came with a cook book . It had some very odd meals in it , including cooking a whole chicken , pigeon, boiled spuds and other veg .
I don't remember any cakes but I am sure there would of been in there.
I am pretty certain there was not a ice cream recipe tho !
