  • you inwardly roll your eyes when people say they're not having turkey for christmas
- heston blumenthal's menus make you want to retch - you like ferrero rocher - you want to smash the radio when the food program is on r4 ("tut, tut poor people have such bad diets - let then eat artisan produced cheese and free range guineafowl!") - ready meals save time - is that so bad?

i'm sure i will think of more...

Get her!

coppertop · 16/12/2004 09:31

...You look at the plates of food served in posh restaurants and think "No wonder they eat so many bloomin' courses if that's all you get!"

...You snigger at the idea of someone putting a sprig of parsley on the plates in your own house.

serenequeen · 16/12/2004 09:33

teehee! just trying to be funny - always a risk for an accountant! now everyone will shun me and shudder at the thought of what we might be having for xmas dinner...

You eat raw quorn sausages
You get through a bottle of ketchup every two weeks
You have to ask the waiter what a coulis is

serenequeen · 16/12/2004 09:46

when you see nigella cooking on television you shout "tie back your hair", "don't lick your fingers, urggh!" and "wash your hands!"

DingWongMerrilyOnHigh · 16/12/2004 10:18

don't need to be not a foodie to yell that at Nigella - she may be talented but she is a sloven

tinselwinselspiderclimbedupthe · 16/12/2004 10:48

you know you're not a foodie when.......

You think the best cheese on toast is made with squishy white bread and easy singles cheese slices

I love ferrero rocher yummy

serenequeen · 16/12/2004 12:12

... you think sliced white bread is the best for comfort toast and also bacon sandwiches...

TheHollyAndTheTwiglett · 16/12/2004 12:23

.. you would ask for nescafe over filter anywhere and everywhere (true)

... your favourite treat is Herta frankfurters ... raw (true)

... DS turns his nose up at chicken nuggets .. because you bought the Blue Parrot cafe fresh ones rather than Birds Eye frozen

merrykittymas · 16/12/2004 17:19

you actually like pot noodles

PamiNativity · 16/12/2004 17:22

You prefer Roses to Belgian chocolates (and dh's wallet is very pleased)

MaryChristmas · 16/12/2004 17:36

Ha, I'm not a foodie, can't understand why spend all that time in the kitchen, for all that washing up, for a start.
What the hell is Coulis?
Fricasee?
Give me ny homepride sauce wuth Uncle Fred any day.
Or the menu for the takeaway! hehe

serenequeen · 16/12/2004 20:55

ladies, these are great, keep them coming!

nigella is a sloven - and her recipes are similarly unconscientiously tested - sigh.

pot noodle - mmmmmmm....

OP posts:
serenequeen · 16/12/2004 20:56

no matter how hard i try, i just can't make myself like anchovies...

You eat baked beans with every meal.

Tinker · 16/12/2004 23:42

...your cupboard is stocked full of Sharwoods curry sauces because they're always on 2 for 1 offers at Morrisons.

I do really like Pot Noodles

serenequeen · 17/12/2004 10:22

when you ask people how they like their tea you expect them to say somthing like "white with 2" and not "do you have any chinese green tea?" - this actually happened at our house recently when a foodie friend came round. needless to say we didn't.

OP posts:
Pancake · 17/12/2004 11:06

You go to Gordon Ramseys "Claridges" restaurant and ask for a plain breast of chicken !!

serenequeen · 17/12/2004 21:00

... you buy quality street for xmas not hand made belgian chocs - because ds can use the qs wrappers for crafty stuff...

You're a bit that everyone is saying yeucchh to KFC on the 'which takeaway' thread, as you really really fancy a bargain bucket, right now, all to yourself...
