Do you use an apron when cooking or baking?

Someone suggested I get aprons for cooking with my little DD which is such a sweet idea and made me realise I have never owned one. Does anyone still use them when cooking? A bit of a pointless post but keen to know what people do in their kitchens. If you do, any particular brand to recommend?

Yes always but I've been told it's unusual here lol. Mine is from Ikea like PPs

No, never. I don't get any mess on my clothes, and I cook and bake a lot, so there's never been any point in having an apron.

It annoys me that no one wears an apron on come dine with me. I don't cook often, but I do reach for an apron when I do.

And don't get me started on all the Bake Off contestants who don't roll their sleeves up!

I wear an apron to bake, and mostly to cook, unless it's something very quick/non-splashy

I’ve never worn an apron for cooking. Maybe if you’re not accustomed to one you’re naturally used to being more careful as I never get food on my clothes.
The only times I get oil spots on my top tend to be eating salad - the combination of flippy leaves and salad dressing. Maybe I need to buy a special salad-eating apron.

I think they hark back to the days before washing machines when ppl didn’t used to wash their clothes so much.

I don’t wear one often as DH said a few years into our marriage they reminded him of his mum 😂

If I do wear one, it’d be because I’ve already got changed for ppl coming round and I’m still cooking food/baking. This doesn’t happen often as I tend to make stuff ahead.
