What is your favourite sick soup?

Just that really. We are a sick house this weekend from the nursery bugs, not much appetite. Would love a good sick soup for dinner and looking for some inspiration.

Campbells cream of tomato.

I make minestrone as the pasta makes it a bit more substantial.

Yes! The packet stuff. No cream so doesn’t upset the tummy, it’s really just broth. We used to call it Poorly Soup when I was a kid and my kids do now too 😁

Try Avgolemoni soup. It's a Greek chicken rice soup with egg and lemon. Sounds weird with the egg but it's our go-to when anyone is feeling poorly.

When I'm sick, it is anything I don't have to make myself. My preference is cream of chicken, cream of mushroom, pea and ham, and chicken noodle, in that order. I would ideally like homemade soup, but that would never happen. DH would be happy to go out to buy then 'prepare' (heat) one of my choosing though.
If someone else in the family was sick and wanted soup, I would make a chunky 'knife and fork' chicken soup if no specific request was made, however I expect DCs would both request spinach, and DH would want tomato.

Yorkshire Provender roast chicken if I've been proper poorly.
Or their Thai green chicken noodle if I'm just snotty.

Chicken broth with a little rice or soup pasta added is a good choice, helps keep fluid intake up, without upsetting the tummy more.
Chicken noodle is also a good call, or Asian style noodle soup if not spicy.
My own favourite is consommé served in a large cup, with toast soldiers to dunk.

Chicken broth type soup made with plenty of ginger, garlic, onions and black pepper corns.

Spiced carrot and parsnip soup with lots of ginger, some cumin and paprika - finished with a sprinkling of crushed chillies. It is so warming and nourishing. It is very flexible too - you can also add red lentils if you want it a bit more substantial.

They used to sell a beetroot and horseradish soup at Waitrose, it may have been Yorkshire Provender. It was as amazing for cutting through a heavy head.

I have three which I make in batches. The first 2 can be frozen for when you need them. The last one needs fresh kimchi adding. The first and last can all be made vegan really easily
