Personally, I'd choose Anthony Worral Thompson. I think he's ace at cooking and he'd be a good laugh too!

OP posts:
wickedwinterwitch · 11/12/2004 18:57

Well I'd like Nigel but suspect Dp would rather slaver over Nigella!

GingerBells · 11/12/2004 19:12

Jamie Oliver, his food is fab. DH would deffo prefer Nigella.

LipstickMum · 11/12/2004 19:54

James Martin, because I fancy him.

wickedwinterwitch · 11/12/2004 19:55

Ooh, I thought James Martin was gay. But that's only because dp bought a book of his and it had that look about it.

charlie95 · 11/12/2004 19:56

gary rhodes - got few of his books. theyre great and his series' on tv. also james martin is very good.

soapboxingday · 11/12/2004 19:58

Gordon Ramsey - can't quite work out why someone so ugly can be sooooo sexy:):):):):)

GeorginaAdventCalendar · 11/12/2004 20:00

Jamie Oliver or Nigel Slater - don't like overly fussy food but do like good quality.

TwasTheNightBeforeCatbert · 11/12/2004 20:01

Jamie for me, Nigella for DP.

Both naked. (!)

TwasTheNightBeforeCatbert · 11/12/2004 20:02

Oops - let my upgrade him. DH. We just spent so long as DP's!!!! ...

dinny · 11/12/2004 20:26

Big Cook, Little Cook, naturally, Wink

PaRumPumPumScum · 11/12/2004 20:42

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Dinny! I would pay good money to keep those two well away from me.

I'd like Nigel or Nigella (love them both dearly for their splendid gluttony which I share) or Rick Stein and Chalky (Just seem nice) or the couple at Moro (wow their cookbook is lovely) or the Nobu guy (am in a loving sushi phase and don't know of any other famous sushi chefs) or Gordon Ramsey (for the food not the personality). Partner would like Hesten Blumenthal.

Went on an impromptu trip to Whitstable today and ate at the The Royal Native Oyster Stores and it was the best restaurant meal I've ever had, I think. :):):) So whoever cooks for us has a hard act to follow...

pupuce · 11/12/2004 20:43

Gordon ANY DAY or night Blush

pupuce · 11/12/2004 20:45

Tell me more about The Royal Native Oyster Stores.... posh, expensive, could you take the kids ???

PaRumPumPumScum · 11/12/2004 20:59

Hi Pupuce. Yes- we had our boys with us. The staff were lovely and the ethos was very child friendly I thought. They provided a game for the boys to play while we waited for the food to come and one of our sons had the kids' menu fish and chips, which was excellent. The other had mussels and there was no problem about bringing them all out at the same time to minimise jealousy and stress. It was expensive I'd say- however, we were feeling like splurging and really didn't stint ourselves in any respect, so it could have been a bit cheaper. I didn't think it was posh really, if by that you mean extremely dressy or stuffy. ABut delicious and enjoyable- a real treat definitely. And dressed up, sans kids in the evening it could be v romantic venue, I'd have thought. All those aphrodisiac oysters...

winterwombaland · 11/12/2004 20:59

Another vote for Mr Ramsey i'm afraid!! But then again, any bloke cooking for me would be onto a winner!!!! Wink

Juliehafrancis · 11/12/2004 21:13

dinny · 11/12/2004 21:15

Marychristmas - "Percy Pepper and Susie Salt". What a wit! Or, "Ooh, I've got a big a black sausage here!" Snigger snigger!

Spamhead · 11/12/2004 21:49

Nigella Lawson - the queen of gastro porn. Not only is she a fab cook, and sexy (my goodness she can steam up a kitchen), but I like a cook who enjoys eating, and looks good on it. Wink

Sorry, very male response, but then, my DW is sexier and a better cook, so no competition Grin.

Spamhead · 11/12/2004 21:51

BTW, DD would vote for Big Cook and Little Cook, but she's four and deosn't know any better - yet!

dustercember · 11/12/2004 21:54

The Swedish chef off the Muppets.

Tommy · 11/12/2004 22:00

Definitely Gordon - for some reason I find him very sexy, although he wouldn't want to cook for me cos I'm one of those awkward veggies...
