What can I eat buttery marmite with?

My favourite food used to be a fresh baguette slathered in buttery marmite. However, I now can't tolerate any wheat. This morning I was making buttery marmite toast for DD and like an animal licked the knife - it was HEAVEN.

How can I get my buttery marmite hit without wheat?

I love it on pasta - are there any free-from pastas you can eat?

addler · 07/06/2023 01:34

Aside from gluten free bread, what about rice cakes? Or gluten free crackers?

Makemeachannelofyourpeas · 07/06/2023 01:34

Ooh I hadn't thought of that! Freefrom pastas are generally grim IMO but perhaps I've been eating it wrong

Rice cakes

Thanks all! I hadn't considered rice cakes because DH has misophonia and can't stand me making crunchy noises. But I'm prepared to shut myself in the airing cupboard and crunch to my hearts content if necessary

I can't have wheat either and I either have spaghetti with marmite and butter or just a cup of hot marmite with a bit of butter in

HappiDaze · 07/06/2023 05:25

Have you tried Edamame bean pasta?

That's gluten and wheat free.

I was also going to say pasta. Even my DD eats it and honestly her diet is very limited!

Buttery Marmite melted into cheesy scrambled eggs is heaven!!

jackstini · 07/06/2023 07:01

On chips, with cheese!

woodpeckerz · 07/06/2023 07:15

Put a rice cake in the toaster and have it in that. They do burn so don't toast it too much. It's surprisingly good!
