Just making Chicken Arrabbiata Stew with Parmesan Dumplings and pondering “what are my top three BBC Good Food recipes?” as this one is first class. Anyway, here are mine but what are yours?

Chicken Arrabbiata Stew and Parmesan Dumplings

• Double bean and roasted pepper chilli

• Spiced lentil and butternut squash soup

• Meatball tagine

😋

Oooh the Double Bean and Roasted Pepper Chilli looks good. Always on the look out for a decent veggie chilli!

Hob to table moussaka
Lemony roast chicken with couscous
Bang bang turkey salad (we often use poached salmon or chicken instead of turkey).

I’ve been getting the magazine for many, many years and have a file full of recipes torn out from them, these three are probably all 20+ years old but we come back to them time and time again. The chicken arrabbiata is great too.

Triple cheese and bacon dauphinois (DP makes this for me with steak for every special meal - it’s so good!)
Spicy root and lentil casserole (I’d call it a curry)
Black Bean Chilli

Two vegetarian which makes sense I suppose as I don’t tend to need recipes for meat.

And for cakes, this one

That double bean chilli does look good - you’ll have to make that and my black bean chilli OP and let us know which is best!

FlyingGoose · 05/03/2023 19:28

Halloumi and Chipotle bread
Lamb kofta curry
Chinese style braised beef

I will! I’ve tried so many vegetarian chillis, cottage pies and bolognaises over the years and really struggled to get any flavour in them so looking forward to making these!

Honestly though, BBC Good Food website is so so so good!

Chicken and chorizo jambalaya- I add more Chorizo and double the amount of stock to rice ratio. Prob add more Cajun too.

AlwaysLatte · 05/03/2023 19:35

Great post!
Three of my regulars are:
Nut Roast
Spiced Aloo Gobi Traybake
Blueberry soured cream cake with cheesecake frosting

It really is! Lovely recipes, and very reliable.

DrMarciaFieldstone · 05/03/2023 19:37

Slow cooker beef stew. Seems so basic, but comes out as SO much more than the sum of its parts. Delish.

fufulina · 05/03/2023 19:38

Burnt aubergine chilli (I got that from a thread on MN)
Chicken souvlaki
Spinach and three cheese cannelloni

UnfinishedBusiness · 05/03/2023 19:39

Our regular roast chicken recipe. The dressing is a bit of a faff, but genuinely worth the effort (have sed dried oregano when no fresh). Will often use different med veg, usually skip the chickpeas…

This is the best chilli. Ever…

I was scared at the amount of paprika in this, but it really works…

(Fourth, sorry, because it’s good😳) Quite often just make the curry without the lamb. It’s really great, despite sounding really simple…

The ones I always use are

Chickpea and spinach curry
Easy Naan bread
Lemon and 5 spice chicken thighs

Jamie Oliver’s veggie chilli recipe is mind blowing.

Yes! Almost included this one in my top three. It is very good. Last time I made it, I deviated from the recipe and added…pineapple chunks…(shock horror!!)

I can believe it. Would serve with a very buttery mash and green beans….

Perfect. And some crusty baguette to dip if you’re really hungry…

The oven baked Thai green curry is good too.

AltitudeCheck · 05/03/2023 19:57

Definitely the burnt aubergine chilli! It's the only vegan chilli I ever make now and even carnivorous OH loves it

WinniePig · 05/03/2023 19:57

Oooh the cake looks seriously good!

Loving the recommendations from everyone; so many recipes that I wouldn’t normally consider - why? - but will definitely take another look now!

SuperfastJellyfish · 05/03/2023 20:01

Agree with the burnt aubergine chilli 😋

Keepitweird · 05/03/2023 20:03

Mmmmmmmm sweetcorn & smoked haddock chowder is always a winner in this house, I can do it with my eyes closed now 🤣
