Frozen garlic

Somanycats · 19/02/2023 23:05

Frozen salmon starter, chicken risotto, Christmas pudding.

MajesticWhine · 19/02/2023 23:06

There's some fish pie mix in the freezer. So mixed fish mornay (we've plenty of cheese)

SpringyChicken · 19/02/2023 23:07

Strawberry banana and chocolate fondue

MrsRickAstley · 19/02/2023 23:09

Onion rings / pasta

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 19/02/2023 23:11

Stuffed mushrooms for starters or Heinz tomato soup
Spaghetti bolognaise
Raspberry trifle or think we have a couple of box cake mixes in the back of the pantry.

MyBloodyMaryneedsmoreTabasco · 19/02/2023 23:29

Cheese souffle. Never made one, but have eggs and cheese... Could do bruschetta but more likely to use the topping in the main which would be:
Gnocchi with roasted squash, red onion, black olives, cherry tomatoes. Some sort of sauce.
Apple strudel (have one in freezer). Could do a lime cheesecake if could figure out how to make a base with no actual biscuits.

ErrolTheDragon · 19/02/2023 23:48

We've got some casserole steak in the freezer, and have onions and so we could have beef casserole. Tenderstem brocolli and carrots in the veg drawer. No potatoes, not sure rice or pasta would go but DH can make some sort of wholemeal bread.

Frozen prawns for starters maybe, probably can make some sort of dressing for it, with some lettuce and tomato.

Greek yogurt with berry compote for dessert.

BreviloquentBastard · 19/02/2023 23:51

Pea and ham soup with crusty bread

Honey mustard chicken and horseradish mash

Frozen yoghurt and fruit or lemon cheesecake

BCBird · 19/02/2023 23:52

Bacon and egg sandwich with brown sauce, followed by stewed apples with dates, sultanas cinnamon and custard. Classy🤣

redspottedmug · 19/02/2023 23:56

Spiced pecan nuts as nibbles.

Probably a soup - celery and Stilton. Croutons.

Kleftiko - leg of lamb in the freezer and plenty of veg

Basic trifle - sponge fingers, raspberry jelly, custard. Squirty cream and gold star sprinkles added last minute.

Cheese and biscuits. Port.
Box of chocolates

And if you are staying the night, egg and bacon and toast and homemade marmalade for breakfast.

midlifecrash · 20/02/2023 00:01

Watercress garlic and lentil soup, onion tart, green beans, lemon… um… lemons and sugar

NoDairyNoProblem · 20/02/2023 00:03

I could rustle together some cheat spring rolls and a dip using the filo pastry and M&S stirfry veg pack in the fridge as a starter with soy sauce/chilli.
Thai chicken curry with frozen spinach, microwave sticky rice pots for main (tomorrow nights dinner).
Lemon tart (remainder of filo) or possets with berries for dessert.

Always plenty of fizz, wine etc.

I'm away for work next week so spent today batch cooking to make sure DH and DS don't live off takeaways. Take your pick from...

Ham hock and smoked haddock gratin
Venison cottage pie
Braised lamb shanks
Spag bol

And plenty of eggs because DS assures me that they are perfectly capable of doing pancakes without me. I'm waiting for the proof, and if not, you can have your pick of egg-based meals!

watcherintherye · 20/02/2023 00:07

I’ve got a part-baked crusty ciabatta, garlic and tomatoes, so bruschetta for a starter (one slice each). Have lots of rice, so I could probably fashion some sort of risotto/paella concoction with random veg and one half of a twin pack of lardons. Followed by some ‘Aunty’s’ microwave sponge puddings I keep for emergencies, fruit salad and custard.

Schnooze · 20/02/2023 00:07

I’d struggle for a nice starter. Plenty of food in the freezer but would be an odd combo like mini chillis or mini spaghetti bolognaise or something.

Roast beef with most of the trimmings (beef currently in freezer)

Blackberry and apple crumble with evaporated milk.

Plenty of alcohol.

fitflopqueen · 20/02/2023 00:09

Leek & potato soup, homemade sour dough bread.
Mushroom & ham risotto and mixed salad
Berry crumble & custard/Greek yoghurt.
Variety of spirits, beers and wine.

Whattodowithallthebooks · 20/02/2023 00:09

Lentil soup and bread but no butter, I think I could cobble together a bean chilli and rice for main and we might have some icecream in the freezer.

Rebellious23 · 20/02/2023 00:10

Ummm

Halloumi, sun dried tomatoes and pesto on ciabatta to start

Choice of main
Batch cooked mustard and leek chicken frozen
Cottage pie frozen
Omelette with cheese and mushrooms
Chicken Caesar salad with homemade dressing

Dessert
Aldi protein mousse GrinGrin or grapes

nevertakeadvicefromsomeonewhosfallingapart · 20/02/2023 00:13

Chilli con carne with jacket potatoes and rice, for dessert mandarines with custard!

HereForTheFreeLunch · 20/02/2023 00:15

Peas fried rice with slices boiled eggs, dhal, spring rolls
Dodgy ice cream for dessert

drawingmaps · 20/02/2023 00:17

Ginger tomato soup for starter (ginger, onions, mixed veg in the freezer, tinned tomatoes and orange juice in the cupboard)

Some sort of fish tikka and rice for the main, I think I have curry paste in and some frozen white fish. Depends on numbers though. Might have to bulk out with a basic red lentil dhal alongside.

Desert I'd struggle with most. No eggs or butter in, but I do have some cans of chickpeas and flour/sugar/cocoa powder so could do a vegan brownie with aquafaba and spread perhaps.

Ireallydohope · 20/02/2023 00:25

Prawn Thai curry or pasta with garlic prawns

Icanbetherubberband · 20/02/2023 00:32

Starter Soup or olives, pitta bread, hummus
Main Chicken risotto, salmon with rice and veg, or chilli con carne
Dessert Bananas and custard, jelly or Angel delight

I could definitely put together an impressive cheese board, though

Ireallydohope · 20/02/2023 00:37

Chocolate brownies I made earlier for dessert or I could rustle up an apple crumble with custard

As for a starter it would be the chilli potato soup I made earlier
