Sandwich Lover (ideas please)

So I can't stop eating sandwiches. Sometimes I will even make a massive sandwich for dinner.

Today I had

Cheese
Tomato
Honey roast ham
Lettuce
Cucumber
Red onion
Mayo
Salt and pepper

What is your favorite sandwich please as I need some inspo!

I can recommend the Aldi metro rolls, they're subway dupes
Oh and sliced gherkins in a sandwich is always good

I don’t eat bread currently, but when I did:

Rye bread, tuna, pickled gherkins

Any bread with ajvar and feta cheese, maybe black olives

Any bread with slightly melted brie and tomato slices on top

Any bread with butter, bacon and a fried egg on top (ketchup optional). It’s good with just egg too, but needs ketchup then

And cheddar with Branston pickle

Bacon, avocado and feta is a surprisingly great sandwich choice.

In a baguette, I recommend roasted or chargrilled asparagus, parma ham and cream cheese or mild soft goats cheese. Add some roasted tomatoes (sun dried would work but I hate sun dried tomatoes) for extra goodness.

Cheese, olive tapenade, tomato. Especially good when melted.

Steak, onions, mushrooms with mustard and mayo.

Steak, peppers, mushrooms, onion and cheese - bastardised philly cheese.
Salami, Parma ham, cucumber, romaine, mayo, cheese and spring onion.
Meatballs in the aforementioned Aldi deli rolls with cheese on then under the grill for a couple of minutes.

Goats cheese & rocket pesto.

Brie, cranberry sauce, rocket & pistachios.

Stilton & pear.

Pâté & crispy bacon.

Thinly sliced turkey & mature or spicy cheese (Mexicana works well).

Add whatever salad stuff you like. I usually have rocket, cucumber, fresh peppers, occasionally jalapeños.

Chicken breast roasted with lemon and rosemary, then shards of red onion, rocket and mayonnaise. Wholemeal bread, obviously

My fave ever sandwich, good quality cheese, good quality tomatoes, salt and pepper, white bread!

Hard boiled egg mashed finely with a little mayo. Wholemeal bread and very thin slices of pickles walnut.
Appreciate this maybbe an acquired taste, had a sandwich like this near carfax 50 years ago and the memory has stayed.

Baguettes with salami, pesto, feta and tomatoes or smoked salmon, cream cheese, cucumber beetroot and rocket are two of my favourites.

As a child, my favourite tea when it was just me and Dad was a baguette filled with whatever was in the fridge. We went through some weird combos. Think hardboiled egg, corned beef, tomatoes, cucumber and tomato relish was particularly good.

Ooh I love a good sandwich - the best I ever had were thick ones from delis in NJ, I still think of them... salted beef piled high, pickles...

Yesterday I did herbed peppery ranch steak sandwiches in baguettes with rocket, dijon mustard, sliced tomatoes, and sliced red onion.

Later this week I plan to try muffuletta-style ones, using: ciabatta rolls, mortadella, emmental, and a fancy jar of olive tapenade I found in the clearance aisle at Tesco.

Still have a soft spot for a classic BLT on seeded bread, however!

Finger sandwiches from a cream tea are anathema to me Grin
