We had leftovers from last night. Chicken livers, with bacon, onion, leek, diced potatoes, lentils, carrots and dumplings. Oxo cube for the gravy didn't need cornflour because I coated the liver in flour. Not had dumplings for years was gorgeous.

Cheese burgers again tonight. Clearing out the fridge and freezer as much as possible right now. Tomorrow I will do something with some frozen bolognese sauce. Usually just bolognese but Chief Food Fusspot did not like this version (I added half a yellow pepper and he could tell) so i might very lightly spice it and serve it with nachos and rice.

Doggiedoodoos · 21/10/2022 07:06

Going to pick up fish and chips on the way home tonight. Have not had food from a chippie in about 2 years I would say so it will be an actual treat.

DelilahBucket · 21/10/2022 07:21

Night off from cooking tonight as we're both tired and it's been a long week. We're not getting takeaways at the moment so I keep some pizzas and sides in the freezer for such an occasion and will stick some extra mozzarella on and do a salad, both of which were from a Too Good To Go bag on Wednesday. Also got the in laws turning up (because they always insist on coming on a weekday evening when we can't be arsed rather than a weekend) so the less effort needed for tea the better! We're not feeding them but you can guarantee they will turn up while we're eating!

changer121 · 21/10/2022 14:45

We're having an m&s curry box as we are shattered and dh picked it up at lunchtime.

hairyunicorn · 21/10/2022 14:46

waiting for the caterers to bring in dinner at work, no idea what it will be but as long as i don't have to cook i'm happy :)

TulipVictory · 21/10/2022 14:47

Hot dogs (with sausages) onions, ketchup and mustard with wedges

Fuckallthetories · 21/10/2022 15:00

Tonight is a lazy night so we are having fish and chips from the chippy! Well sausage and chips for dd and I as we don’t like fish…..

Chelsea26 · 21/10/2022 15:09

gammon, egg, chips and beans - one of my favourites. Can’t wait!

I’ve got an arm in plaster so DP will have to cut it up for me but I’ll manage to shovel it in after that.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 21/10/2022 19:34

Thanks @toastofthetown I'll give it a try next week, I think.

Today has been a long work day. DP texted me the sexiest message ever, when I was nearing home: 'Do you want sausage and mash?' I think I'll keep him.

Dustyblue · 27/10/2022 06:34

Some of these sound incredible for a weeknight effort! Your families should be throwing petals in front you as you enter the kitchen.

Having leftover minestrone that I've been eating for 2 days. Nice but enough is enough!

Luckily DH came home with a Happy Meal for our sick DS, and a double cheeseburger for me😁One balances the other for sure.

MingoDringo · 29/10/2022 10:32

What's everyone having tonight?

I'm thinking chilli con carne with beef steak chunks rather than mince cooked in the slow cooker.

Igglepiggleslittletoe · 29/10/2022 10:50

I had booked a fairly posh restaurant to treat my partner to a lavish night out as he has been so tired lately but that seems now to not be happening so I am still ridding myself of the kids and will have leftover chicken curry and noodles that I made last night. Raging cos I could nearly taste the food from the menu.

onwardandupwards · 29/10/2022 13:47

Baked camembert with pigs in blankets and cheese straws we will be making later ( pigs in blankets were discovered in the freezer yesterday and camembert from a too good to go bag)

PritiPatelsMaker · 29/10/2022 19:54

We've had this chicken ciabatta sandwich.

I've got a horrible virus so DD shopped and DH cooked. It was lovely Halloween Smile

What exactly is a pig in a blanket?

I thought it was a small frankfurt/sausage baked in pastry.

But apparently it can be something similar wrapped in bacon?

I need to know.

CuriousCatfish · 29/10/2022 20:51

Pigs in blankets are sausages wrapped in bacon.

Dustyblue · 29/10/2022 21:09

Thank you. Google offered various interpretations!

Giggorata · 31/10/2022 13:36

Yesterday's maccie cheese, with sliced ham and garlic mushrooms stirred through it, for brunch.
DH shopped and came home with a yellow ticket sourdough pizza, so that'll do for tonight, followed by some roadside help yourself apples, which I’ll do in a crumble, with custard.

dinnertonightt · 14/11/2022 17:26

We have an easy meal of chicken Kiev, chips (potatos in the air fryer) and leftover tender stem! No idea for the rest of the week! What's everyone got?

Just had the messiest but yummiest doner kebab from abrakebabra. I shall be licking bits of it off myself now till shower time.

A580Hojas · 14/11/2022 17:28

Waitrose chicken parmigiana, roast potatoes, stir fried cabbage and leeks with a tbsp of creme fraiche and nutmeg.

johnworf · 14/11/2022 17:33

Veggie risotto with parmigiano cheese followed by strawberry compote and greek yoghurt. It's my teenagers favourite meal and I like doing it because it all goes in the Instant Pot (obvs not the yoghurt!)

WinterLobelia · 14/11/2022 17:40

Easiest meal ever. Sprial pasta. Homepride pasta bake sauce and garlic bread. Today is a day I need to fill tummies and everyone will eat it.

Later this week;

chicken ala king with rice
tacos
hot dogs and warm potato salad.

PritiPatelsMaker · 14/11/2022 17:42

DS is working late so I'm doing a chicken and spinach curry that he can warm up later.
