What would you cook if alone for the evening?

Just that really. DP is out tonight. I fancy making myself a nice dinner with a glass of wine in front of the TV after the baby is in bed. What would you make?

Salad!

Update! Baby is asleep, eating my pasta, sipping my wine and watching rubbish TV. Bliss. Maybe I need to LTB

I see St Agur in the shops here. What does it taste like?

Marmite on toast and too many crisps.
Or instant mash with beans and hot sauce.
Basically I regress to being a student again.

Oooh I'm on my own tonight too, I LOVE the occasional evening like this! I'm making homemade pizzas with the kids for their dinner, we'll watch a movie then maybe have ice cream, then when they're in bed I think I might make myself Dahl topped with yoghurt, spring onions, herbs and chilli and do a flatbread with some leftover pizza dough. Hubby humours me and eats Dahl occasionally but I love it, especially when it's cold (winter here), such amazing comfort food! Might have some bubbles and chocolate too. Can't wait!

Its delicious, a creamy blue cheese, not overly strong, my favourite!

Fillet steak, onion rings, a mushroom and peppercorn sauce with slightly spiced wedges.

Sausage and mash with posh sausages.

Welsh rarebit or just cheese on toast, served with salady bits.
Or a plate full of delicious little nibbly things like crackers, bloody good cheese, cornichons, olives and a sliced pear, plus a massive bag of twiglets. Yum!

If I could actually be bothered putting in a little more effort, I'd probably have a sausage or bacon roll. Best bacon or sausage (steak lorne please) I can find, wholegrain mustard for the sausage, tomato ketchup and lettuce for the bacon, and the nicest looking bread roll I could lay my paws on.

That sounds really sad.
Theres loads of meals Dh doesn't like but I love. I wouldnt miss out on things I like.

The something nice, a steak with a sun dried tomato ommlette on the side... Or something tinky, grilled spam chopped up into a bowl of baked beans.

I pretty much always make carbonara, quick, tasty and DH doesn’t like it. Or pasta with a tomato sauce with whatever is in fridge….

or mussels….
