Aubergine. Like eating a sponge.

Timeforanothername · 06/07/2022 14:07

Artificial sweetener in soft drinks. Absolutely vile stuff that ruins any drink it is mixed with.

Oh yes - I can’t stand Nutella and things like that. Which is weird because I love chocolate and nuts (especially hazelnuts).

I don't like Nutella either.

Out-of-season cheap tomatoes.
Overcooked vegetables.
Food full of E-numbers etc.

@mizzo

That smelly wet wafer thin meat you get in plastic packets

DP worked at a factory where they made wafer thin ham - they actually put a chemical in it to stop you gagging 😷

Tiramisu, cannot bear the texture

Wow, you don't like tiramisu. I love the stuff.

I've had a lifetime of ridicule because I hate cheese to the point people have told me they wouldn't trust someone who doesn't like cheese.

I agree with them.

That is rank 🤢

NervousFlyer2022 · 06/07/2022 14:33

Rice and pasta unless it's very buttery - they're just bland fillers. Also most bread unless it's the perfect fluffy white or malty granary. Again - just fillers to the main ingredient. My partner comes from the north west and they have pies in a bap/barm at the bakeries and I just don't see the point. All that claggy pastry and bread to get through just to get a mouthful of meat. I've gone off lamb and turkey - too gamey and the smell of KFC makes me heave. I'm not generally picky though Grin

sassafras123 · 06/07/2022 14:34

Milk
Semolina
Rice pud
Pasta
Offal
Veal
Gristly fatty meat
Egg Whites unless scrambled
Tea apart from herbal
Squid
Jackfruit

Vicliz24 · 06/07/2022 14:42

Parsnip's or anything that should be savoury but is sweet. Sweet and sour anything. Wine sauces . Spam or any other tinned meat including hot dog sausages

Comedycook · 06/07/2022 14:42

I also hate those packets of frozen mixed veg from the supermarket...the ones which have peas, sweetcorn, tiny bits of carrot and green beans. I like all those vegetables on their own and cooked from fresh but all mixed together and frozen..just vile.

Chemenger · 06/07/2022 15:09

Anything cold and coffee flavoured. I struggle to swallow coffee that has gone too cold in the cup. So no Tiramisu, coffee ice cream, coffee flavoured icing, coffee chocolates.

Hause · 06/07/2022 15:15

Creme caramel - cold, slimy, weird bitter aftertaste to syrup topping.

longtompot · 06/07/2022 15:25

Liver unless it's pate, heart/brain but will eat kidneys🤔 shellfish, octopus, urchin

TheYearOfSmallThings · 06/07/2022 15:29

Goat's cheese. I can taste one atom of goats cheese in a vat of any dish.

Chemenger · 06/07/2022 15:32

I’m the same, instantly detectable, even when “it’s so mild, not like goats cheese at all”.

quirkychick · 06/07/2022 15:39

I like goats' cheese and sharp or smelly cheeses, but not blue cheese.
I'm an adventurous eater, but tripe really makes me heave.
Offal, I'm not keen on, though liver pate is fine.
Banana, marshmallows or meringue I could give a miss to, easily. Smoothies with banana in, I can taste really strongly.

JennyForeigner · 06/07/2022 15:42

Mayonnaise. Everything about it is disgusting.

alexdgr8 · 06/07/2022 15:53

i don't eat meat, or shellfish.
i don't like hot/spicy food, having been brought up on typical british food of the time, where the only flavouring apart from bottled sauces was white pepper, and we very rarely used that. i never did.
i did not come across garlic until i was quite grown up, and have gradually come to appreciate it.
i dislike chilli, paprika.
also strong cheese like mature cheddar, makes my tongue have little pimples.
i like mild cheese, and cold. hate those that look as if they've walked across the room by themselves.
also dislike strong coffee, esp the one from a large glass vase, kept on hotplate.
makes me feel ill.
birds mellow instant is ok.
neither do i drink alcohol.
basically i prefer all to be bland, or mild which is a nicer word.

Babdoc · 06/07/2022 15:53

Tripe.
Heart.
Pig’s liver (but I adore lamb’s liver)
Camembert, Brie, Halloumi, Manchego (but addicted to almost any other cheeses)
Hake.
Tofu in any form whatsoever.
Cheap processed meat of any sort, but particularly Spam.
Kiwi fruit.
Shop made cakes.
Ready meals.

Happierthanever91 · 06/07/2022 15:53

Goats cheese
Brown sauce
Mustard
Any sort of creamy sauce
Donner meat
Any chicken and bacon duo
Sauce in a sandwich (soggy bread 🤢)
Beans
Black pudding
Milky tea
Tuna

JadeSeahorse · 06/07/2022 16:22

Garlic
Vinegar of any kind/pickles
Mayo/salad cream or any dressing on salad
Offal
Mushrooms
Pizza
Pasta
Goats, blue or soft, runny cheese such as camembert
Horseradish
Rosemary

I could go on but suffice to say eating out is a nightmare for me these days. ☹️

chiffchaffchiff · 06/07/2022 17:56

Mushrooms, blue cheese, meat and fish.

Please stop feeding vegetarians mushrooms.

Now I also hate coffee that's gone cold but love all the things you've mentioned!
