Left over chip shop chips

I have a large portion of chip shop chips left over from last night. Would love to make something with them for tea tonight. Any suggestions?

Frittata?

Personally I can't get my head round having left over chip shop chips, brain just doesn't compute 😂

maslinpan · 05/05/2022 09:08

I made them into a frittata, it worked really well.

You're supposed to keep some back for a chip butty the next day.
Exclaim how big the fish is, virtue signal you couldn't possibly eat all those chips while shovelling a kilo of scraps down and have the warm up chips the following day on a French stick pretending to be refined.
You're doing chippy wrong.

OMG I think I love you!

(how do you reheat the chips for butty on day 2?)

Exactly this

Left over chips… stuff of myths alongside leftover wine

lickenchugget · 05/05/2022 09:22

But if I had any, I’d make salt and pepper chips with them

averythinline · 05/05/2022 09:24

I microwave my chip shop chips next day as keeps them soft (only takes couple of minutes) and is quick! My family are strange and often leave chips! In theory we could buy less......

kizzywizz · 05/05/2022 09:25

Heat them in an air fryer if you have one, lovely fresh crispy chips.

Topseyt123 · 05/05/2022 09:27

There are never any leftover chips in this house.

noenergy · 05/05/2022 09:27

The airfryer is great for left over chips

MumstedInadequate · 05/05/2022 09:29

I quite like soggy chips so I sometimes steak them to reheat. Works well for skinny fries too.

Those of you who never have leftover chips, you're not ordering enough! I challenge any living human to eat more chips than me in one sitting, but because I don't under order I still often have leftovers.

I also rarely bother filling up valuable chip space with fish. I'll have half of OH's sausage, or for a treat I might stretch to a spring roll, but the focus should be on chips and chips alone

MumstedInadequate · 05/05/2022 09:30

*OH will obv order 2 sausages so I can have half of one. I hate to think what would happen if I left him with only half a sausage total for himself

DataColour · 05/05/2022 09:33

Salt and pepper chips!

Shgytfgtf111 · 05/05/2022 09:38

I would chop them up and fry with some onions etc and make a 'hash'. Yum.

LindaEllen · 05/05/2022 09:44

I completely read this title wrong. I thought you meant your partner had left you over chip shop chips, and I came in here thinking what on earth could have possibly caused an argument about chip shop chips..

I'm mildly disappointed.

TheHatinaCat · 05/05/2022 09:49

Just reheat them in the microwave and have them as a side.

Last time we froze our leftover chips. Will be doing that again!

Favouritefruits · 05/05/2022 09:49

I’d wouldn’t have any chips left over and if I did I’d throw them away, I’ve tried reheating and they are horrible!

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 05/05/2022 09:53

The funniest post I ever read on MN was a diet/food thread which are usually bonkers but the poster said they get one potion of fish and chips for FOUR and have it with a (massive) salad 😂😂😂😂😂😂

DeadButDelicious · 05/05/2022 09:57

I've never seen a 'leftover' chip in my life. 😁

I don't believe they exist. 😂😂😂

hellswelshy · 05/05/2022 09:57

I've done a few things recently with them, saves waste after all! I've reheated in the oven just to have as a side with something different the next day, but also mushed them up for a big bubble and squeak with fried egg and sausage or whatever leftovers you have - gorgeous.

AelinAshriver · 05/05/2022 17:34

I ended up microwaving them (as I too like a soggy chip) and put some left over Bolognese and melted cheese on there. Was really good actually!

Are they battered / orange chips or normal? Apparently battered chips freeze and then cook I ntbe oven and they go super crispy

Oblomov22 · 05/05/2022 17:42

I find them vile one left. They don't keep well.

KirstenBlest · 05/05/2022 17:44

Left over chip shop chips? Confused
