After reading a article on the Dailymail I was curious as to other peoples dinner times. We have dinner at 5/5:30 as my son is always hungry after school.

@RampantIvy

Do the people who eat at 4 and 5 pm not bother with lunch?
I am up early so have breakfast before 7am, and then lunch usually at 12. So I am hungry by 5-5:30.

I don't usually feel hungry in the evening, and I don't like going to bed on a full stomach.

RampantIvy · 18/04/2022 13:50

I eat lunch at 12 - usually a sandwich, but my metabolism has slowed down so I'm not usually hungry until about 6.30.

SheSaysShush · 18/04/2022 18:02

Anytime between 7-8pm.

orangeisthenewpuce · 18/04/2022 18:06

Midday for me. Tea at 5.30.

milveycrohn · 18/04/2022 18:09

I only cook once, so when the DC were young, it was 5.30pm.
If I waited for my DH, I would go hungry as he would often not arrive home till quite late.
When I returned to work, I initially worked P/T which still allowed us to eat around 5.30, gradually moving back to 6.00, as they got older and I worked longer hours.

Usually around 8/8.30 here but it's just the two of us as kids are all adults who have left home so no little ones to consider. bliss 😂

Plantstrees · 18/04/2022 18:21

Between 7pm and 8pm in summer. Sometimes in winter is it earlier as it is too dark and miserable to do much early evening.

MaryAndHerNet · 18/04/2022 18:23

Dinner time is 1pm

Tea time is 6pm..

Don't @ me.. 🤪

NorthSouthcatlady · 18/04/2022 18:33

8.30pm ish in the week. Later at weekend. We would never be home in time for anything massively earlier

Pinchofnom · 18/04/2022 18:38

DC 6pm but we don’t eat with them as it’s too early for us so we’ll eat around 8.30

Longdistance · 18/04/2022 18:40

6.30/7pm in this house. Once we’re home from work and school, that’s when it get’s served up.

SFisnotsimple · 22/04/2022 12:58

We always eat together, so when DC were younger about 6.30, when DH got home.

Now they are older teens, around 7.30. I’m not super keen on later as just want to relax!

TheDogsMother · 22/04/2022 13:00

Lunch time is 1pm, dinner 8.30 - 9pm. No DC to consider though.

This being Mumsnet, it’s not long before the class markers of what people call their meals turn up.

Bloodybridget · 01/05/2022 23:02

We're just two adults at home and almost always eat between 7 - 8 pm, depending on how hungry we are and how long it takes to cook.

PinkSyCo · 01/05/2022 23:05

5’ish when the kids were at school. Between 6 and 7 now they are at college/working.

It's not class, it's regional.

Depends what shift I'm on as my lunch is allocated to me
So early I have lunch at 11.30 so then want my evening meal at maybe 5pm
Late shift I have lunch at 2.30 so eat later, about 7pm
