Friends Over For Breakfast

I have friends (a couple with hearty appetites) over for a night soon. We’re going to go out for dinner & drinks but I’d like to have nibbles and drinks on arrival (before we got out) and then I’d like to have a nice breakfast the following morning.

I used to make big cooked breakfasts for friends but I don’t want to do that anymore. I’d rather have everything pre-made & ready to be tucked into. I don’t eat meat and tend not to buy it.

For the nibbles and drinks on arrival, I’m thinking:
Beer for him & pink Prosecco for her
Crisps
Nuts
Cheese on crackers with nice relish and olives

For the breakfast, I’m thinking a help yourself vibe with :

Homemade granola, yoghurt & homemade compote
Banana bread
Sourdough bread (bought) with butter and marmalade

Any other ideas please? Grin I haven’t had guests in a while so I guess I’m excited!

Bagels are filling and stodgy

Buy some sliced cheese and meats

Bacon and/or sausage needed for meat eaters but not too difficult

Or croissants with bacon or cheese or both

I like the idea of a cold meats and cheese platter. I'm not keen on sweet stuff for breakfast.
Fresh croissants heated in the oven is my idea of luxury.
