DP recoils in horror every time I eat a bowl of peas with salt, pepper and a bit dollop of mayonnaise but I think it’s a delicious snack.

What’s the weirdest thing you snack on?

@BuddhaForMary I remember getting given a cup of sugar and a stick of rhubarb and sitting on my nannas step dunking it. Surprised I got through childhood with teeth.

Oh, and my former housemate (Thai) used to pour fish sauce, sugar and chilli flakes onto tinned pineapple. It's flipping delicious and she said was the closest she could get to a recognised way to eat fruits in Thailand.

@Marmelace I remember my mum saying she used to love that as a snack! My gran used to give us kids butter and sugar sandwiches. You're right about the teeth!!

@Marmelace , thank you. My grandpa was born in NW England about 135 years ago. His favourite snack was white bread and marge sprinkled with white sugar, but condensed milk in tea was a thing too.

Sometimes I substitute honey for the jam

Oh and dark chocolate sandwiched between a couple of beef crisps.

you can purchase crisps coated one side in chocolate in Japan

I like suet pudding with treacle or Yorkshires with jam,
prunes with chocolate spread on toast
marmalade on chicken sarnies

A bowl of broken up rich tea biscuits in hot milk. I don’t have it that often, but sometimes it is just what I need on a cold morning, after a night shift.

@Itdoesnthavetobejusrol I fuckin love soggy pastry. Like the bottom of a pie/tart or when you microwave a pastry and it goes squishy/soggy so I'm gonna get on the raw pastry now

If I get home and I'm so hungry I feel sick I'll either have a ketchup butty or bbq sauce or a wrap.
