I have some

Polish Hill Aussie Riesling

Cloudy Bay

Monbazillac

Clonakilla Aussie Shiraz

Taittinger

and loads of lovely Pouilly Fume

Will also be making Margaritas, doing something clever with my rum from Martinique and limes and drinking a lot of Campari and soda.

And then.... I shall fall over.

Ooooo Cloudy Bay, 'tis a long time since I had some of that.
We've got very much into cocktails this year but will also be drinking a lovely Chassagne Montrachet that I've managed to to secure. Me and dh will have some bling Cristal before the hordes descend on Christmas morn. I'm doing all the cooking too!

BBBee · 18/12/2007 16:26

oh oh oh - I want to know about the bling stuff.

We have lanson black label on christmas day in rememberance.

I make a mean blue margarita - but it is only once a year.

I LOATHE mulled wine - headache in a glass.

Toying with getting some sherry.

DP does the wine.

MORE ABOUT CHAMPAGNE PLEASE.

TenLordsaLapin · 18/12/2007 16:36

Oh my sort of thread.

Bought a case of Pouilly Fume yesterday, and some Bordeaux - just gluggable for the New Years horde

And today at Majestic -

Rioja Reserva 2001 Marqués de Cáceres

Tatachilla Foundation Shiraz 2003 McClaren Vale

Riesling Grand Cru Eichberg 2006 Zinck

Montana Sparkling Chardonnay Pinot Noir NV

TenLordsaLapin · 18/12/2007 16:37

Oooh Cristal I missed that.

This is the best champagne I've ever had - crisp and appley - absolutely divine.

BBBee · 18/12/2007 16:38

lapin - what is your sparkling?

It's all in bl french!

TenLordsaLapin · 18/12/2007 16:39

BBB, we've got shedloads of prosecco, we'll probably drink that!

saythatagain · 18/12/2007 16:39

The Cristal is ridiculously expensive but I can remember the very first time I tried it (aged 21), I'm now 40! It was, to me, like drinking liquid gold (not that I have drunk gold obv). We've bought loads of cava too; to make Kir Royales/Belini's (sp?) etc. I'm also fully stocked with Alkazelster and Panadol extra strength!

BBBee · 18/12/2007 16:39

...

BrownSuga · 18/12/2007 16:39

Here's a lovely Vodka recipe to get you started.

1 packet of skittles, remove the purple and green ones.
Put 350ml bottle vodka into jug, tip in the skittles.
When they've dissolved (stirring occasionally, about 2 days, leave out of freezer for this time), strain the skittle residue and drink.

I've just had a shot, tastes very fruity and you can have it neat.

TenLordsaLapin · 18/12/2007 16:40

I've done that with Opal Fruits!

Lauriefairycake · 18/12/2007 16:43

Hope you've all heard of that £4.99 pink fizz from Morrisons - 3rd out of twenty posh champagnes by all the top critics.

There are people queueing for this stuff - think its called Griffin ?

If you actually like decent stuff (and not just labels) its a big tip.

harleyd · 18/12/2007 16:44

sounds yum
but im happy just to neck it without the dissolving of sweeties

also, loads of champagne with peach schnapps

wine, beer, vodka, tequila shots, jagermeister
jack daniels, southern comfort
and pass out

camillathechicken · 18/12/2007 16:46

BBBee · 18/12/2007 16:52

Lauriefairycake · 18/12/2007 16:53

I know, I'm making a special trip tomorrow about 45 minutes away to track some down.

camillathechicken · 18/12/2007 16:54

TinyTimsGangGawdBlessUs1andAll · 18/12/2007 17:11

camillathechicken · 18/12/2007 17:12

oh yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessssssss!

wheelybahhumbug · 18/12/2007 17:14

We haven't got any further than the champagne at the moment but we have a number of bottles of Bollinger so far.

Still trying to finalise the menu and then we'll go on to wine.

saythatagain · 18/12/2007 17:15

I've peeled a lemon and put it (the peelings) in a bottle a grey goose vodka (here's hoping). The thought of a gin and tonic now...with a slice of lime is making my tongue tingle.

CremolaFirCone · 18/12/2007 17:18
