Planning on making this recipe this evening. Not sure why as my normal recipes is a complete fail safe in our household.
It was featured on her last eat tv series but having doubts.

Should have said it did look like ultimate comfort food when she made it but now I'm just thinking WTF!!

Family think I've lost my mind

That looks so wrong, but I have a night in on my own tonight and you might just have solved my what am I going to eat dilemma.

turnthebiglightoff · 18/11/2021 16:30

I was going to make tonight too

REP22 · 18/11/2021 16:36

I saw that on her show last week - I thought it looked AMAZING. I like Nadya's recipes. My DSiL cooks from her books a fair bit and she's pretty consistently good. x

shumway · 18/11/2021 16:37

Watching that episode made me wish I could cook.

EnglishGradMum · 18/11/2021 16:40

No. I was all on board till the wotsits. 🤢

Dozer · 18/11/2021 16:40

Make it then report back!

Love wotsits

Unsuremover · 18/11/2021 16:43

We’re thinking of trying it. I have a weird memory of an aunt crushing crisps on top of lasagne in the 80’s so it’s not the worsits I have an issue with, it’s the marmite.

purplesequins · 18/11/2021 16:50

chrisps make awesome 'breadcrumbs'

loislovesstewie · 18/11/2021 17:05

No, and I won't because it sounds revolting especially as it has something called Marmite in it which tastes like something scraped off the road!

LynnInAVan · 18/11/2021 17:06

I made it for my mac and cheese obsessed DD last week. Tip - put foil loosely over the top until the last minute or so, I found the wotsits caught a bit

drivinmecrazy · 18/11/2021 17:34

I will report back but am still waiting for DH to come home with the evaporated milk and wotsits.
I'm so relieved I'm not the only one who thinks it's worth a go, though I have a feeling we'll go back to our original with leeks and bacon but who knows!!

Oh yeah... I forgot about the Mar-shite. I'd probably leave that out.

Although I might stir in a bit of horseradish sauce instead. I love cheese and horseradish sauce in a sandwich...

AgnesNaismith · 18/11/2021 17:59

Marmite and wotsits? Sounds like a dream!! For those who do like marmite - Nigella’s marmite butter pasta is amazing!!

NotMyCat · 18/11/2021 18:03

Following. Cheese and marmite are two of my fave things so this is like food porn

drivinmecrazy · 18/11/2021 19:19

DH was a bit late home from work with the wotsits and milk but it's in the oven now and my kitchen smells of cheese and watsits.
I'm in heaven!!
It sounds a ridiculously childish mix but can't tell you how much we're looking forward to dinner tonight 😂

We had it last night and despite the fact that I overcooked it and it went a bit dry, it was delicious!

StColumbofNavron · 18/11/2021 19:28

Nope! I watched her make it and almost threw up but I really dislike wotsits and the way they make your fingers go orange. I even shuddered just typing the name.

I do love Nadiya though and have made lots of her recipes and they were lovely.

KristinAmandaThomas · 18/11/2021 19:38

8 packs of wotsits, did I read that right?! So assuming feeds 4 that’s 2 packs each. No wonder her kids love it, nobody’s allowed 2 packs of crisps in the Thomas household!

That aside, I think it sounds nice. Don’t get the need for the evaporated milk but I’d give it a go

drivinmecrazy · 18/11/2021 19:48

Ready to eat!!

I’m not a wotsit fan so I’m worried about that bit but I’m always looking for a great Mac and cheese recipe so I’m tempted. Does it taste wotsit-y or is it just a bit of cheesy crunch?

RaisedByPangolins · 18/11/2021 20:00

I’m thinking I could sub cheesy nachos

NatriumChloride · 18/11/2021 20:04

Waiting for your verdict, OP! 😂😂😂

strengthinnumber · 18/11/2021 20:07

Well now I'm invested.

Dozer · 18/11/2021 20:08

Looks good! Love that your DH made a special trip for the wotsits!
