Please tell me you live very close to me in Middlesex. Please, please. Excellent picture. I accept the post of vio's quality controller.

CarmenerryChristmas · 11/12/2007 15:48

the Asian stuff looks interesting, the European stuff isn't terribly photogenic though

vio · 11/12/2007 15:50

Can you do recipes? The Cantonese hotpot looks good.

ChopsterRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 11/12/2007 16:04

wow, some of that looks lovely!
I don't think the sea bass needed the lemon and parsley - looked a bit over the top, but agree the asian food looks fantastic.

Please share your recipe for soup! I'm still very much a beginner with chinese style food, and my attempts so far have been disastrous.

coby · 11/12/2007 16:06

yummmmmmm........looks sooo nice - you fancy travelling to cornwall to cook dinner for me and DH tonight?

MellowChristmasEveryone · 11/12/2007 16:10

Oh Glasgow tis just a train ride away.

Can I come for dinner sometime please?

vio · 11/12/2007 17:45

the seabass was good but i agreed with you, it wasn't the best dish i have cooked. I will keep it simple next time.

expatinscotland · 11/12/2007 17:57

mmmm.

ever considered working as a personal chef.

vio · 11/12/2007 18:08

am i only an amature cook so ....never thought about writing recipes, that's a good idea, maybe i should give it a try.

the album is constantly updated with new dish everyday..( cos, I am trying to see if i can cook a new dish everyday!!! ).

Soup is very easy to make and it does taste lovely, ( probably better than those you have in your local chinese ).

Cantonese hot pot is simple, all you need is a hotpot dish like the one i've got, then you need some hot and spicy paste( i have half spicy and the other half is plain chicken stock ) then you add fish ball, beef ball etc ( you can get them from Chinese supermarket ) and some salmon, ( slice them ) some tofu, some mushrooms, some chicken ( slice and marinate for 30mins ), beef ( slice and marinade for 30mins ),....then put them in the pot til boiled...normally, you put some at a time, ( not everything all at once )!! Hotpot is probably one of the most popular dish in Hong Kong!

vio · 11/12/2007 18:19

icod4by4 · 11/12/2007 18:23

i think its odd to photogrpah your food.
my opinion

Kathyate6mincepies · 11/12/2007 18:24

Lots of people do it Cod - you'd be surprised
My Japanese SIL has a blog with hers and it is linked up to about a million others. She takes pics of every meal she eats, not just ones she cooks. Freaks my mum out when she comes to stay.

moondog · 11/12/2007 18:24

Vio it looks terrific.
The Asian stuff is exactly my sort of cooking and we are all huge hotpot fans.
In fact, you have just persuaded me to do another one...
