Ultimate cheese sandwich?

I’m ready to branch out from mature cheddar and Branston pickle.

What should I try instead?

Buttered toast, grilled cheddar, Worcestershire sauce with salt and pepper

Granary bread, soft cheese, roast veg and crispy bacon

Fresh crispy baguette from the bakers, strong cheddar, tomato, red onion and a smear of spicy tomato chutney

Or baguette with goats cheese, salad leaves and chilli jam

Or avocado and crumbled feta. Food of the gods

Aaaaargh this has made me hungry 🤦‍♀️

If you are branching into toasties, try a smear of pesto in your cheese and tomato; it's so good!

Crusty white bread, Camembert (must be room temperature and really good tomatoes with plenty of sea salt and freshly ground black pepper. My number one sandwich ever. Can't have one for 20 because I'm pg 😭

Ooh, and Double Gloucester and Vegemite on a toasted crumpet is pretty epic too.

Camembert and black grapes.

Cream cheese and jam, especially black cherry or blueberry.

Cheese toasty with sweet chilli sauce.

Classic cheese & pickle sandwich with hot pear chutney. You’ll never go back to Branston (sorry).

Wensleydale and veeeeeery thinly sliced braeburn apple.......

I miss that so much, can't get Wensleydale here where I live or even anything remotely similar. Watching Wallace and Grommet always makes me hungry 🤣🤣

I love mango chutney with mature cheddar so strong it makes your eyes water. But stick some tomato in there too.

And don't forget the classic ham and cheese: Good ham and strong cheddar on freshly cut granary bread 'buttered' with mayo and add a smear of dijon mustard. Perfect with Seabrooks crinkle cut ready salted crisps.

Goats cheese is another great idea. I love it but have never had it in a sandwich.

Initially I need a sandwich that will travel well for a picnic. After that I am going to be living on these suggestions for quite a while.

Grated cheese, chopped spring onions and Mayo. On any bread but my guilty pleasure is on thick white sliced

My childhood favourite which I haven’t had for ages and I’m now craving is:
Buttered uncut white bloomer bread, smothering of marmite, strong cheddar, tomato, cucumber and a bit of onion

Nothing is thinly sliced and ends up like a scooby doo sandwich
